    Are you forgetting about Hanley Ramirez who also started playing the same time as Puig? Hanley has been even better than Puig with the bat.

    Puig has a .462 the BABIP which is the highest in baseball for players with at least 250 pa, and it's not even close. Puig is very exciting, but I doubt there's anyone in baseball who would take him over trout right now. I agree with the previous poster who said comparing puig to harper makes more sense.

    meh.. did you see the overreaction for kole calhoun? You would think he's the second coming of trout.

    I haven't been able to see him play much, but he's been tearing it up so far in his short stint with the angels. How has his defense looked? I really think he can be a solid everyday player.

    With how horrible Cowart and cron have been, Lindsay and Grichuk are probably the angels top 2 prospects now.

    We'll see how nova looks in a couple days. He's looked like a solid number 2 pitcher since coming back from his injury

    I just rewatched the 1st half of the 5th season last week. I didn't realize how awesome it was until I watched it again. So many things took place in just 8 episodes. There were no filler episodes.

    I think team record trumps everything.Like I said in my previous post, Ichiro won because he hit .350 with 242 hits and his team had a crazy good record. Arod had 52 bombs that year with a 1.021 OPS

    Still is amazing how ichiro won in 2001 with a .838 OPS as a rookie, yet trout has no shot in hell of winning with a 1.005 OPS. It shows that the main thing writers care about is team record.

    I'm not saying harper wont be as good as trout, or even better. My qualm is with people who thought harper would have a better sophmore season than trout's rookie season because of the numbers he was putting up at 19.
