  1. Tovar isn't really an answer to any question anyone is asking, and Rengifo doesn't seem quite ready for the bigs yet (though, I like the kid). Other than that, this lineup is a lot of fun.
  2. This is not an inaccurate complaint. I think the article in general is stupid, but this line sounds about spot on.
  3. Happened to swing by milb.com, and this is over of their top stories tonight: https://www.milb.com/milb/news/jahmai-jones-turns-in-first-three-hit-effort-for-mobile-baybears/c-308047972 "The Angels' No. 4 prospect reached base four times, going 3-for-3 with a homer, walk, three RBIs and a pair of runs scored, to help lift Double-A Mobile past Mississippi, 5-3, at Trustmark Park." he still has an ugly slash line, but that is certainly a step in the right direction.
  4. I'm hoping we see Adell sooner than expected and force this question. The guy is absolutely murdering the ball down in AA right now (granted, small sample size). If he keeps this up, they'll have to promote him sooner rather than later.
  5. I agree- Barria kinda needs to be the answer here (until we get another legit starter). Just makes me nervous that he really seems to be working through some shit this year.
  6. Problem is, peña is really kinda our 5th best starter right now. Not sure who we replace him with if we move him to the pen. Are barria or trop looking any better in the minors, or are they still getting shelled down there? Is jc Ramirez still alive? Edit- maybe Peter's becomes our #5? Are we doing a 5 or 6 man rotation? I feel like I can't even really tell anymore.
  7. I love the irony of this being posted just after today's game.
  8. 13-0. USWNT showed up.
  9. https://amp.usatoday.com/amp/1379197001 Dude, F*ck unwritten rules.
  10. This team's situation looks a lot less dire if those two step up. Suddenly you have those two pitching well, Canning and Suarez making starts, and Pena filling in as the 5th arm. Trop and Barria may contribute at some point, theoretically one day Ramirez will pitch again...Spend some money on a starter in the off season (and maybe get a cheaper, solid middle of the rotation guy), and next year doesn't look terrible either.
  11. No hitters have literally no meaning if the other team isn't trying everything they can to get a hit. If you can't pitch a no hitter without the help of the other team, then you can't pitch a no-hitter and you don't deserve it. Period.
  12. I know in the past this year when we've gotten to one game below .500, we lost the game and immediately went into free fall. Maybe we should like...not do that? Maybe lets leave the series above .500?
  13. So like...does anyone know anything about this kid? Scouting report or anything?
  14. Seriously. People forget that major league baseball is really, REALLY hard.
  15. Dude for real though, F*ck this team.
  16. Time for him to move to the pen. Give me a rotation of: 1. Skaggs 2. Heaney 3. Pena 4. Canning 5. Suarez Maybe Barria or Trop can get some outs at some point this season as well, but I think they both have to get their shit together before that happens.
  17. Cahill's game log since the start of May: 6 ER 3.1 innings 2 ER 6 IP 6 ER 4.1 IP 1 ER 5 IP 6 ER 4.1 IP ...lets hope this "every other game is a good one" trend goes on today....
