  1. I'm already feeling better about the rotation this year. Adding Ohtani and Cole to it, along with Canning and Suarez being better adjusted to the majors, sounds amazing.
  2. Its unfortunate, but sacrifices need to be made to maintain this greatness. Basis loaded, Trout up to bat....pinch hitter Albert Pujols.
  3. 2-run, and a 4-run. Hoping Trout can hit for the home run cycle tonight.
  4. I love having a murderer's row of Trout-Ohtani-Upton. Hard little group for a pitcher to get through.
  5. I totally agree about La Stella. I would feel better if I ever really believed his early numbers, but like...La Stella so far in June: .258/.303/.452/.755; La Stella career numbers: .270/.346/.397/.743. He's looked...basically like La Stella. Subtract a little ability to get on base, add a little power; amazing how similar his OPS ends up, actually. Edit - happy about the jinx, but I stand by my fears.
  6. I'm a little surprised Trout isn't DHing tonight -happy to see it! AIGHT BOYS, LETS LEAVE THIS GAME AS A SLIGHTLY ABOVE AVERAGE TEAM!
  7. I agree. He has only really had one bad start, and I'm willing to chalk that up to him recovering from an injury still. And even then, he got 10 k's over 5 innings.
  8. IMO, Heaney and Canning have both 'outpitched' their stats this year. They've been showing flashes of brilliance, and keep having a late inning where they get hammered. I'm optimistic on both of them moving forward - you see this kinda thing early on with pitchers, and they are both kinda just starting their year with the Angels recently.
  9. I don't hate a rotation with Suarez, Canning, Skaggs, Heaney, and the best 5th pitcher we can find in our system (pena? trop? barria? jc ramirez? one of the injured F*ck-faces who we payed like 15 million for?). Skaggs and Heaney both need to step up, though. Obviously its still not "tip top", and our priority in the off season should be adding an ace to the top of it, but its starting to feel less like a huge open wound on the team.
  10. Yeahhhh, as the team does better, we can get ready to replace "we can't even hit .500" with "we can't even get the WC spot" then "we can't even get the top WC spot" then "we can't even win the division" then "we can't even get the best record in baseball" then "we can't even sweep the playoffs" (depending on however far up this list we got). This board will never stop bitching.
  11. I mean, that is the only reasonable way of spelling that word. Its the rare double - contraction.
  12. Fun to watch this team starting to get healthy. What we are putting on the field right now is not a sub-.500 team. Especially once Simmons is back. I'm hoping they turn it on the second half of this year and take the league by storm.
  13. Garcia gives up runs like other pitchers give up hits. edit: he is averaging a run per outing over his last 7 outings (including today). Gross.
  14. Don't look now, but Calhoun sucks again. 1 hit in the last 5 games.
  15. Okay, really though, how many games have we lost this year when we were exactly one game under .500? It's getting weird.
  16. Hold up. You can say F*ck without it getting censored? That's fucked up.
