    Amazing that for 2000 years Christians have thrived in science and in many cases led the way. I'm sure they will be just fine. I might also add that this is one very small portion of science. Nate, you have told me on a couple of occasions that we christians are oversensitive and that atheists have no plans on trying to infringe on Christian rights. Looks like you were incorrect.

    Interesting. I would be interested to see a broader range of dates to see if the decrease trend actually started that year. Also, what portions of the brady bill do they believe were helpful. It's stuff to talk about.

    Is there any proof that the existing gun control laws in this country have done anything to curtail gun violence? I wouldn't have a huge problem with some gun laws if I thought they actually worked and were not just another law on the books that really meant nothing while giving the federal government more of a means to track law abiding citizens.

    As a USC fan........... they suck right now, UCLA is probably better and they definately have a better coach. Not only is Kiffin a complete and total douchebag, but he's also just not a very good head football coach.

    That is a very good point coach. We have had holes at catcher, third and to a lesser extent ss for a while now. It just seems like whatever we do, it ends up being the wrong decision.

    The entire pitching staff sans Weaver and Downs is Dipoto's. Guess what sucks the most on the team. The pitching.

    Of course it's reliable. It's as reliable as any other stand on it's own statistic. It plays a part in the overall picture. Like RBI's or ERA. That won't tell you everything about a player, but it tells you some stuff.

    You can use the information to gain more knowledge of the effectiveness therein. It won't give you all the answers but I have yet to see any, and I mean any, reliable data that gun control works in this country. The only thing that would actually work is to get rid of the 2nd ammendment and then completely getting rid of all guns. Of course some people would die if that happened.

It might make folks think that "something has been done", but it won't make any measurable difference. What it will do is put another meaningless law on the books and give the government one more piece of power to track it's citizens.
