Really don't know. I think when he struggled in his first full season ... he tried to change too much about his batting stance / swing that it just completely ****ed him up. He hasn't regained his high prospect status and I think it killed his confidence in himself. Just completely in his own head at this point. He should be fine in Safeco. Was never really going to be a big power guy .... but was expected to have gap power and the ability to hit to all fields. Just hasn't shown. I hope Brad Miller isn't going down the same path.

Felix is on another level this season. Kuma needs to keep his consistency up now that he shook off his rough starts. Chris Young has always outperformed his saber stats. Is he a 3.15 ERA pitcher? No. Is he a near 6 ERA pitcher? I don't think so. He has a knack for inducing weak contact on fly balls ... but yes sometimes he does give up some bomb HRs. Should be interesting series. As an M's fan I'm hoping Ackley is out of the line-up and we have Marlon Byrd or Josh Willingham in his place by the time Friday comes.

I also don't understand defensive metrics. I don't know why Kyle Seager is not rated higher defensively. If his defense wasn't so low he'd be projected higher than Donaldson.

We seem to play up to our opponents ... We sucked ass against the White Sox and Twins .... play well against the A's.

Thanks for the King Felix appreciation. He truly is great. Where is my buddy Cezero? I remember prior to the season he said the M's bullpen was gonna be trash .... yet we've got the best bullpen in the AL (by ERA and FIP). Wish I could find his posts in wherever that thread is .... we also have a ton of GOOD relief arms in the minors waiting to see the show. Perhaps the Angels will look for a trade! Taijuan Walker pitches tomorrow against Houston. Hopefully that means Erasmo is gone for a good bit .... now Paxton needs to get back. Should be a fun race.

Sadly this is true. The A's are too good and Billy Beane has sold his soul to some sort of devil because I don't know how he does it. Also, what do they say? Pitching wins championships? On a serious note, I don't expect the M's to make the playoffs ... it'd be nice as an M's fan ... but I do enjoy seeing positive progress being made finally.

We have the 2nd best run differential in baseball. Largely due to our pitching. http://espn.go.com/mlb/standings Felix is the best pitcher in baseball by WAR and no one is that close currently. Iwakuma isn't going to stop being Iwakuma. Our bullpen has been phenomenal ... 2.76 ERA as a whole with Rodney 1 behind the AL leader in saves. We're pitching this well without Paxton and Walker. Walker is making starts in Tacoma. Don't know much about Paxton's road to recovery. Paxton or Walker could come up and easily replace Erasmo Ramirez in the pitching rotation and we'd instantly be even better. Chris Young appears he is back to his Padre wizardry of not allowing solid contact on flyballs. Roenis Elias has been very effective as our #5 starter. Smoak needs to not get any more opportunities. Logan Morrison needs to get his shot at 1B. Corey Hart needs to stay in Tacoma as long as he needs to regain his swing. We may not have an offense to "compete with the elite teams in the AL" but we sure do have the pitching. As an aside, watching the Mariners DESTROY John Lackey and seeing him cursing/huffing&puffing about on the mound was truly a thing of beauty. He is such an unlikeable toad.

Hope he signs with the Mariners as a coach.

Yes! Alex Jackson will most likely move to the outfield. Austin Wilson is starting to perform in Single A ... DJ Peterson hitting a ton of HR's and doubles .... I like drafting offense!
