  1. LET ME HAVE MY DREAMS OK? YOU GUYS WON A WS IN 2002 ... I don't know what even GOING to the WS is like and I've been a Mariner fan for a good 24 years now
  2. Also if A-Rod's contract was offered today ... it'd be around $330m ... it's hard to compare older contracts to todays contracts.
  3. As a Mariner fan, I'm all for this. 3-4 years from now I might really regret this deal ... but jesus ... the shit we've had to deal with for the past decade has nearly made me leave this team behind as a fan. Sure signing Cano might not amount to anything as far as wins ... or playoff appearances etc .... but it gives hope and that's really not something we've had in a while. Its not my money ... and its becoming quite clear you need to be willing to spend money to compete. The M's also have the TV deal money coming shortly.
  4. It'd also be good for us because it's a clear upgrade in a position of need for us? Sure he's been injured ... but he did have surgery to at least fix the ankle problem.
  5. You are correct in that they moved in the fences in LF and the LF/CF power alley. RF was left alone. I'm aware the opposition hit better there .... but the opposition also faced Aaron Harang, Joe Saunders and Jeremy Bonderman for stretches during the season.
  6. My bad sir. I meant RF. My mistake. Good catch.
  7. Seattle was #6 out of all MLB teams at hitting HRs at home. People exaggerate how "hard" it is to hit HRs at Safeco. Angels were 18th at hitting HRs at home (yeah yeah Marine layer) ... but why would HR hitters go to Anaheim? Seattle was #2 in all of MLB in HRs. God knows it didn't really help them win many more games though. Also its not too tough to hit HRs out to RF ... and Cano is a Lefty.
  8. I'd be wary of boasting about other team's busts when you have Grandpa Pujols signed until 2030 and he hasn't lived up to much. Same with Hamilton. As a Mariner fan ... I don't want to see Cano at 200M on the M's really either though. I did want Ellsbury ... but jesus ... that is an awful lot to pay for a player of his caliber. He isn't going to hit 32 HRs anytime soon again ...
  9. Good point. Them too. The posting system is changing before Tanaka goes into it right? He has some say where he goes? Can pick between the top few bids or something? Hopefully Iwakuma can lure him!
  10. Heh. I think everyone is gonna be in on Tanaka. I want the M's to get him too. He's basically a younger, better Iwakuma. Felix, Kuma, Tanaka, Taijuan Walker, and someone (maybe Paxton) would be the stuff of my dreams. Unfortunately the Yankees, Dodgers and Red Sox exist.
  11. It's fine. I can't say I'm a whiz on most Angels players ... though I do know most of the Angels MLB Roster. Erasmo didn't have a good year. That is true. He was also injured for a while and I don't think he was truly 100% at all. He barely threw his change-up and when working it's one of the better ones in baseball. Erasmo is certainly better than his MLB numbers showed last year ... easily could become a decent #3 or solid #4. He's also only 23. Edwin Diaz is a ways off ... so high risk high reward ... he has the potential to be a TOR pitcher ... but of course could also flame out. Bourjos' value isn't exactly the highest right now with all the injuries last year ... and his not so great 2012.
  12. Figured you guys, being Angels fans would at least know what Lookout Landing was .... or even Erasmo Ramirez. But yes .... Seattle.
  13. Trade SP Erasmo Ramirez, RP Yoervis Medina, and SP Edwin Diaz to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in exchange for CF Peter Bourjos. What do you guys think? Not sure I'd want to throw Edwin Diaz into that mix ... as I think he has considerable upside (though he is quite young) and he had quite a breakout year at 19 ... maybe replace with someone else. Though Diaz's upside might be needed to seal the deal.
  14. This was his 1st start in 19 games. There was no way he was going to pitch as long as he normally would today. Then again he did throw 92 pitches.
  15. Guess you guys paid us back for when we swept you. I hope the M's tank the rest of the season anyhow. Gimme that protected draft pick!
  16. Be sure to thank Michael Morse for being a terrible outfielder. Any real outfielder would have caught Trumbo's ball at the wall.
  17. We're just ready for the season to end ... as I'm sure most of you Angel fans are as well.
  18. Justin Smoak is better than Mark Trumbo this year. Nuff said.
  19. RIP little dude. Hope you're throwin some strikes upstairs.
  20. The Mariners beat the Astros with ONE hit. 4 runs ... 2 off a double and 2 off walks, wild pitches and sac fly.
