GA wasn't lazy. He didn't overly risk injury, especially in low reward moments. 

I loved erstad, not maybe driving when we're winning or losing by 10 wasnt the best idea

He needs to be told to stop stealing bases. 

GA would be a good model on how to play baseball less risky.

I've been a fan of his for a while. I no longer think he will be a good SP, but I think high-end later inning reliever is totally reasonable. 

Sure. He showed promise as a SP at one point and I could see him being a good late inning guy. The advantage of being a crappy team is the zero risk.

Season over before mid-May?  Even the pre-wild card teams in the 90s weren't this bad.

Why does it matter what the payroll is, as long as it's below the luxury tax? It's not like taking on more money will keep us from signing anyone who would lead us to the playoffs. 

One huge advantage that large market clubs have over small market ones is the ability to throw money around at young talent. The Yankees and Sox did this to build up their farm systems before the hard cap on draft slots went into place. Arte never did. The Dodgers take on bad deals to get in talent. Arte should, too.

We had the perfect opportunity to do that with the braves and Iglesias. Our owner is cheap.

It appears Arte gave Perry the off-season budget, and Perry spent most of it on the pen, which still sucks. Other than Arte selling I'm at a loss on what this team needs. 

Can we get Chris Rodriguez back please?
