Turned out incredible. Cooked from 6 to 4:30. Cut at 6. Will do it that way from now on.

Smoked brisket, slaw, mac salad, jalapeno poppers, cinnamon apples, baked beans. Staying home, we have gone to in-laws in Roseburg, or, for the last several years. They generally have a pretty good fireworks show. Stuck around this time because the kids have a junior bocce ball tourney tomorrow.

I tried a little different approach. Put brisket on at 6, at 225°. At 10, it had reached 165° internal. Looked beautiful. Took it off, mopped, wrapped in peach paper, back on with heat bumped to 275-300°. Supposedly 5 or so hours to reach done, then off to rest. Closer to the "hot and fast" myron mixon approach, without the foil. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Im not a give up guy until math kicks in. My problem with this team right now is that for the first time ever, there are more guys that i am ambivalent about than those that i enjoy watching on a nightly basis. I honestly think 5 has become one of my least favorite halos ever. I just cant stand watching a grounder to third get bobbled, kicked, then picked up and he is out by 25 feet. He single handedly cancels out the joy of watching Trout, Simmons, and Ohtani. Again, just my .02. I guess i got off topic. Give up? No.
