    I am happy. Re-signing him would have been a franchise paralyzing disaster. But, I am not optimistic. There's no evidence suggesting that the Angels will change course anytime soon. I don't think there's a more poorly run professional sports franchise at the moment.

    There's no logical reason why the Angels should attempt to contend over the next few years. It's over. There's no moves out there, nothing internal that could put the Angels in a position to contend for a WC spot. They need to rip the band aid, talk to Trout and trade him to the highest bidder. They should move anyone else not under club control or approaching FA that they can.

    The Angels are already fucked financially. Signing him would be a disaster. The quicker they blow it up and start over, the more likely they'll be able to contend in the next decade. Unfortunately, they won't sign him and then commit stupid money to others this year and/or next.

    It's a weird game at this age. First tournament of year we were 4-1 and won the DI Bracket. 2nd tournament, without a better field, we were 0-3 and lost the opener of the DIII bracket on Sunday in 3 inning mercy.
