  1. Gabe Kapler. The Giants dumped him too fast, I think.
  2. I'd have interest in Yamamoto. I think he's capable of double digit wins. And I'd really like Bellinger. His bat came back nicely, and he plays gold glove defense at 3 positions, CF, RF and 1B. He'd be nice to have just in case we run into another wave of injured players.
  3. This one isn't on Roberts. Kershaw is pitching hurt. Urias is suspended. Buehler is hurt, May is hurt. They are relying on Lance Lynn, and some talented rookies. The Angels offense got hurt, the Dodgers pitching got hurt. Either way, the results aren't pretty.
  4. The density of some people. Mike Trout has a full no-trade clause. Based on his performance alone, over the last 3 seasons, Mike Trout is untradeable. Any team that tries to trade for him guts their farm system and everyday lineup, and they go over the cap. Except Oakland. And Mike Trout isn't going to Oakland.
  5. I feel like he will stay. I hope he does.
  6. Adams and Paris weren't quite ready. Injuries cause players to be rushed all the time. IIRC, Adams and Paris were both signed out of High School, which IMO, makes a difference in a player's development, with a few very rare exceptions. Both will become ML players, but how good is still to be determined. My original point was about the pitchers. Bradish has become a very good starter, and Heaney seems to be much more pitch efficient since leaving our system. Maybe we should look into a different developmental approach when it comes to pitching and hitting.
  7. Today's starting pitchers in Baltimore, Andrew Heaney for the Rangers, and Kyle Bradish for the Orioles, were both property of the Angels at one point? Bradish has developed into a solid number 2 for Baltimore, and Heaney seems to be a little more pitch efficient since he left Anaheim.
  8. Just based on the things that I have read, I felt that it was very odd that Minasian and Tamin had space in the clubhouse. I feel like that space is for uniformed field personnel only, manager, players, coaches, and Ippei, in the case of Shohei's translator. The GM and his assistant have offices. They should be conducting all of their business there.
  9. I was listening on radio. It was awesome listening to Rory describe hit after hit.
  10. Congratulations! I was hoping to retire shortly, but it looks like I will have to do a couple more. 36 years in. My job is low stress, at least, so I should be OK.
  11. I was just about to post that. Eppler is available. No surprise here.
  12. In reply to this, I want to respond by stating that any MLB team that goes without their 1-4 or 1-5 hitters for an extended period, like the Angels just did, will likely have the same god awful results that we just witnessed. ScottyH, if you really created an account for this, I hope you find something better to do with your time.

  14. Mathis, Mattingly, Ray Montgomery, Espada. Someone who understands that there are only 27 outs to a game, and we can't afford to waste any. Someone who will play more players like Schanuel and Stefanic, guys who know the value of being on base ahead of our power guys. And, a batting coach that teaches those philosophies.
  15. Starting pitching. Starting pitching, and more starting pitching. I'd also be in on Bellinger, as a FA, and I'd try to acquire Brett Baty from the Mets.
  16. I think Perry is staying. I'm not getting the same feeling about Nevin.
  17. Can we add Gabe Kapler to the list, since he's available now?
  18. Going to Mathis wouldn't be such a bad idea. At least he knows how to manage a game. Nevin has made several errors in judgement that have cost the team games, like continuing to use Loup and Marte in games.
  19. So, our owner has turned into Jackie Autry. Even the cheap beer has essentially disappeared. Mr. Moreno, if you're going to run the Angels that way, please take the 2.3 billion dollars, or whatever it was that you were offered, and move on.
  20. I'd like to see Neto ditch the leg lift he uses for his first two strikes, and stick with the two strike approach in his at-bats. I think the end result would be a higher batting average and OBP.
  21. At least Caceres pitched reasonably well. Another live arm to add to the bullpen in 2024. Oh, and Perry, we don't need to spend on a LH reliever, we have Ingram and Suarez. Quijada probably won't pitch until 2025, so I'm not counting on him.
  22. Good. I've had enough of Marte, Loup, and Diaz. I think that none of those three even understands the concept of keeping the ball down.
  23. Fletcher has a guaranteed contract through 2025 that pays him 5 million per season. It is why he was unclaimed when he was DFA'd earlier this season and outrighted off of the 26-man roster. Fletcher can reject the outright assignment, and become a FA, but he won't, because he would then forfeit any monies he is owed on his current contract. Unless he's traded or released, we'll be seeing Fletch in Spring Training next season.
