  1. I believe the magic number to clinch home field is 8 games. We have a 3 game lead with 10 games left to play for both the Angels and O's. Both teams finish on the road with the O's having 1 more game on the road. However, the 3 teams the O's face are out of the wild card race while the Angels finish against the A's and the M's. Those two teams will be going all out to make the post-season. The O's might have a good chance at catching the Angels.
  2. Still doesn't mean he's an Angels fan. Like you mentioned, I'm sure he's mostly there since it's close to home. I read somewhere that he's a Yankees fan but when he goes to Dodgers or Angels games, he only wears Dodgers or Angels gear to represent LA.

  4. Please, there was no chest bump, and Papelbon is doing what every other player, manager, or coach does when arguing with umps, and that's get in their face to make their point. It happens every week in a baseball game somewhere. It's not like he's some stranger at bar that get's into your face and needs to be checked.
  5. Papelbon is definitely a douche bag but Joe West needs to be disciplined or suspended by the league. You never touch a player, manager, or ump. There should be zero tolerance for these kinds of actions. Papelbon's body language wasn't even that aggressive towards West either. http://vimeo.com/106129146
  6. Cron vs righties in SLC this year: .331/.394/.576 vs lefties in SLC: .275/.362/.333 So why is Boesch DHing again?
  7. After this game is over, the Angels will have gained 9 games over Oakland in just the last 19 games. From 4 games back to 5 games up in a span of just 3 weeks. That's pretty impressive considering how unbeatable Oakland looked in the 1st half of the season.
  8. I'm just thinking that if they're willing to try out Roth again, I'd much rather they look to DeLoach or Rucinski. DeLoach has a much better WHIP than Roth and both have about the same amount of experience in the minors. Both DeLoach and Rucinski have much better K/BB ratios than Roth too.
  9. If I eat Arby's, it's for a market fresh sandwich or one of their angus subs.
  10. Which makes it all the more odd that Scioscia would say something like this right now.
  11. What about Drew Rucinski or Tyler DeLoach? Both seem to have good numbers as starters in AA ball.
  12. It's bad enough most have outscored us, but with Richards now gone for the year, they'll have to throw perfectly just to have a chance in the postseason.
  13. How were they able to tell new damage from old?
  14. Some things I'd want to see going forward: 1. Sosh to forget about Pujols's feelings with runners that steal in front of him. Friday after Trout led off with a single with the game tied in the 6th only to be doubled up by Pujols's grounder was absolutely dreadful. Albert shouldn't care how they pitch him with someone like Trout on 2B. If they pitch around him, fine, just take the walk and make them pitch to Josh. The more runners on base, the better pitches they'll get to see. 2. Put the best lineup out there against the best teams. I have to admit, when I seen Cowgill yesterday starting for Calhoun and Beckham stating at 3B, I laughed at Sosh. 3. Call up Cron stat. The guy looks to be tearing it up in SLC and I'd much rather have him playing or DHing over Cowgill, Beckham.
  15. Against all current teams in a playoff spot: LAA: .247/.304/.378 - 10 games, 37 runs - 3.7 per game Oak: .266/.336/.417 - 10 games, 57 runs - 5.7 per game LAA: .220/.280/.364 - 12 games, 39 runs - 3.3 per game Sea: .240/.313/.388 - 12 games, 58 runs - 4.8 per game LAA: .290/.339/.484 - 6 games, 30 runs - 5.0 per game KC: .263/.327/.341 - 6 games, 26 runs - 4.3 per game LAA: .205/.273/.273 - 6 games, 17 runs - 2.8 per game Bal: .187/.240/.322 - 6 games, 21 runs - 3.5 per game Other than against KC, not good.
  16. We're not talking about something like insulin here, we're talking about one of the deadliest diseases on the planet. Something like 900 people have died from Ebola this year in Africa, and not one peep from the US about having a serum or experimental drug available. Then when suddenly two Americans contract the disease, they're flown back to the states and are miraculously up and walking around an hour after being treated while almost making a full recovery the last I heard. Having patents on insulin is one thing, but a patent on an Ebola serum/cure is a crime against humanity, IMHO. Having a "patent" on a cure or serum for one of the deadliest diseases out there literally turns Ebola into a WMD unless given to the rest of the world to save their people's lives.
  17. Looks like they might've had a patent on their 'secret serum' since 2009. $$$$ http://www.google.com/patents/US20120251502
  18. I honestly never heard of the guy. I was just reading a news article about the virus and some guy in the comments section was posting links.
  19. Instead of being contained in Africa, it's now being contained in Atlanta. Still not worth the risk. It's moot point now. They were cured with a "secret" serum!
  20. I don't give a shit if they're American, you contract a deadly and contagious disease with no known cure, standard protocol is for an immediate quarantine, not to put him on a plane and risk spread. So why would they risk an global outbreak by putting this guy on a plane and flying him back to the US? "Secret" serum?? lol, figures. http://www.cnn.com/2014/08/04/health/experimental-ebola-serum/index.html
