The only reason I’m worried about one game is because it’s the one game since Trout went down. Adell doesn’t need to pressure himself now into thinking he is a savior here. Hopefully Ron can keep him grounded and keep stressing that he continue to do what’s given him success this year.
Yesterday looked a lot like Adell pre-2024.

Little things going right though...
Schanuel hitting .302/.327/.377 in his last 15 G/53 AB
Rengifo on the year is now hitting a very solid .326/.376/.465/.841 and has already set a career high in SB (9 for 9, his previous high was 6)
Neto is hitting .302/.327/.509 in his last 15 G/53 AB
To me, this is more important than winning a game where we're running out guys like Adrianza and Pillar already.

Feel bad for Adell, and hope he doesn’t start pressing and trying to be “the guy” with Trout out where it starts reverting him back to bad tendencies. He’s had a good year so far and that was a tough, tough game for him.
We all have to be patient. This is going to be a tough year. W/L won’t matter. Even positive/negative trends amongst the youngsters might not matter, because we just need time to see how all this plays out. They could be treading water with rushed players just as much as we could be seeing a new annual contender making its first steps. Either way, it’s going to take probably all of 2024 and probably most of 2025 to know. So enjoy what goes right each game and on the farm and hope for the best, if that’s the way you want to enjoy baseball.

Yeah nothing would be surprising about that at all....see Neto, Schanuel, Joyce, Silseth...

They have already been very ambitious with Rada, but I would not be surprised if he (or Dana) appeared in Anaheim before the year was out.
And I’m kind of conflicted on that. On one hand, I agree, they’re rushing the hell out of these guys and it’s dangerous to development. But on the other hand, especially for most of us who have been fans for 20+ years, it’s also reflective of a change that across MLB that is different for us - I think baseball as a whole is going to start moving guys up way faster than us longtime fans are used to. Teams will do this to take advantage of cheapest production years and locking up youngsters to more team-friendly deals (think the Braves) versus mega-deals (like what we became accustomed to since ARod’s first contract), and if that’s the way baseball is moving, these aggressive promotions might not be so far-fetched, and could in fact be somewhat pioneering.

I’m more bummed with the game Adell had than the loss itself. He’s been having such some amazing at-bats and I hope he doesn’t regress back to what he was. Like @totdprods said, I am already ruling this season out but it’s important to get improvement by our younger “core” players.

They aren’t scrambling to manage PR. They released Hicks then immediately lost Trout, so they signed a guy. It’s filling out a roster, not PR.

totdprods reacted to samwum in Perry Minasian’s $34.4M bullpen has the highest ERA in baseball.
It's been 4 years and Perry hasn't developed one useful reliever who is under long term team control. That is just an insane level of atrophy to the bottom and middle level of your roster.

If my math is right, Rada is hitting .333 in his last 7 games now, and Fontenelle is slashing a robust .302/.408/.460/.868 in 19 games, with 6 XBH, 8 BB, 19 K and an impressive 11 steals in 12 attempts. I am indeed starting to get on the hype train for him.
Rada is tied for 6th with most hits in the Southern League. And he's 18.

I've thought the same thing...to be honest, nothing about Ben Joyce has been that impressive so far. He throws 105, yeah, but there doesn't seem to be much command, it looks pretty flat, and the secondary stuff isn't wowing me much. And I think he's going to be a constant injury threat.
The little bit of video I've seen of Zach looks like a more run-of-the-mill mid-reliever, not in a bad way, and makes me think he's got a legit shot at the longer and more successful career.

I still think Kochanowicz' stuff will play as an up-and-down reliever, but I understand why they're keeping him stretched out for the time being. Our long-relief/5th SP depth is kinda shot right now so having him in that mix, even if it's way down in the order, makes sense from a depth standpoint. The AA bullpen is loaded too. If I remember correct, when he first moved to AA he had a decent run and he hasn't really had a ton of time at that level yet, so they may as well keep trying him there.
Something has to be wrong with Paris, either physically or a total mental mess at this point. He may need to go to the development list or get a stint in Arizona for a week when that league opens and reset.

There is hope…I kind of expected the bullpen this year was built with the idea that guys would be replaced within throughout the year or for next year.
