  1. Actually it's third, behind turning the page and tipping the cap.
  2. I'm glad that the FO made the announcement about Browns QB Brian Hoyer tearing his ACL and being out for the season. I was thinking about picking him up for one of my fantasy teams.
  3. It is laughable for someone whose main defense is that he believed that Biogenesis was a legitimate doctor's office to be suing MLB.
  4. Good for him, standing up for his guys. I don't understand the hate mail. It's not as if Baker deliberately threw games during the season or in the playoffs. Venting on a message board is one thing, intruding on someone's privacy is quite another.
  5. Another catcher: Player/Manager Jeff Mathis.
  6. Both are chains, but fairly limited ones. Fleming's has 12 locations in California, including Los Angeles, Newport Beach and Beverly Hills. http://www.flemingssteakhouse.com/locations Del Frisco's has a few locations across the country, Vegas is the farthest west. There is also one in Denver. http://delfriscos.com/locations
  7. Watched most of the fourth quarter. Bruins made the plays when it counted. Won on the road despite not playing their best game.
  8. Brilliant. Just f'n brilliant. Let's just gift wrap it.
  9. Looks like another quick end to my postseason. At least this year it is more than one game. One f'n hit. Unbelievable.
  10. Except that on the team directory, GM will be listed as Tony Reagins, to make people believe that we actually have one.
  11. This has been the issue, and since so much has been spent on the wrong guys, there is a lot less left to spend on the ones we could truly use. We could have gotten Adrian Beltre for a fraction of what we paid Pujols, filled a position of need that is a lot harder to fill than first base and saved a bunch of cash. We could also have signed Russell Martin for a song when the Dodgers let him go, and fixed our catching problems (except that the Scioscia-Mathis love affair was in full swing at the time). There have been a lot of bad decisions made on which players to acquire and which ones to pass on. I doubt that there is a need for me to rehash the Vernon Wells trade.
  12. My Jaguars take another step toward a perfect season, and Teddy Bridgewater with the #1 pick in the draft.
  13. If cost were no object, it would be a tossup between Del Frisco's Double Eagle and Fleming's.
  14. I trust what Chuck says. If there were something going on, he would know it.
  15. The short answer is no. This franchise is the main object lesson for what happens to teams who sign big money long term contracts with players on the wrong side of 30. Repeating the mistake won't make us better. Cano would probably hit .220 with five home runs and lead the league in errors at second base.
  16. Like one of my bosses years ago going to a meeting with the sole purpose of setting the agenda for the next meeting.
  17. Arte Moreno sat down with the leaders of both houses of Congress and brokered an end to the government shutdown.
  18. I don't trust CNN until I hear the official AW count. Reports that the woman driving the car was former Nevada US Senate candidate Sharron Angle could not immediately be verified.
  19. Everyone else is talking about their emotional reactions, and yk is talking about poop. Well played, sir.
  20. Despite disparaging remarks by some, Outback delivers good steaks at a reasonable price. There are better steaks, to be sure, at places where I would pay as much for a baked potato as I pay for my whole meal at Outback. I only go to those when a pharmaceutical company is picking up the tab (I have one of those coming in about ten days).
