  1. I'm not going to lie, I would prefer Trout to stay in center. I am not completely diminishing the idea that Bourjos should be in center. I know Trout's arm is average at best. But there hasn't been a very recent memory where Bourjos arm is anywhere near Francoeur ability, or even made that much of a difference. I'm sure you can find the stats to support Bourjos being the better CF'er but we shouldn't dismiss superstition and whatnot so quickly. Let's agree to disagree. Play Bourjos at LF for like a week, considering he left with a hamstring issue, playing there would save his legs a bit. At this point, I don't care who plays where as long as we keep winning games dammit.
  2. Pick me Chuck! It will be myself and bf in tow. Is there specific things we will need or can I just wing it? The boyfriend is super excited.
  3. Not to mention the incessant "ANGELS SUCK, ANGELS SUCK!" or "GO BACK TO ANAHEIM".
  4. The entire time the bf and I watched him pitch, in which he did not throw strikes, the only thing that came to mind was KOHN!!!!! (Get it?)
  5. That is a definitely nice looking tattoo there. Why no periwinkle A though? Of all the A's to get, that would probably be the first one I'd get. Then again, it might be too effeminate.
  6. Not just the graphic mistake but spelling error. Atrocious if it is true.
  7. Could care less about what the Dodgers do. But frankly as a whole I think to baseball fans, they will be the bigger disappointment. They came in yelling and hyping this "a whole new blue" and so far it hasn't been up to par at all. I can't say I'm not extremely disappointed by the Angels. They are really testing my patience at the moment. I hate to say it, but I know most of knew going in it wouldn't be pretty especially with the pitching situation, but it hurts to say we are currently 17-27. That's right. 17-27. F@#K.
  8. The Dodger game would be the easiest game for you to make. The Angel game however is a lot tougher. Hope you can figure something out!
  9. I doubt anyone could see this coming, in this caliber of crappiness. I mean ST stats mean squat. If you really want to nail the problem, it was in the offseason when there seemed to be no serious focus on fixing pitching. Once that came to light, we all knew it was a matter of time things would implode. It just happened a lot sooner and much bigger than expected, or at least in my eyes.
  10. Both my boyfriend and I still watch it through the torture. I might not be as emotionally invested as I would normally be, I'll always believe with all my heart that it can go from bad to good and vice versa at any point. But the less energy I put towards not letting myself get too upset is just better for my over all mood. My boyfriend is more crushed, being a long time fan, he thought this would finally be the time for the Angels to shine for more than just a season. I get that the negativity isn't ideal, but you have to be realistic. Focus on the other parts, don't just have yourself believe the lie of "taking one game at a time". No need to be delusional and make it worse. Hopefully I can get some cheap tickets in the next coming games, and take my brothers so they can understand the game a little more and see why even when times are tough, baseball is still a beautiful thing.
  11. I'm glad he leveled out, like I knew he would. I knew he wouldn't stay this way for much longer now everyone can shut up about the cheating. Not trying to be a homer, but I highly doubt he was cheating. Most of the time, he was throwing balls low and away that would get those K's or at least a ground outs. He's always used the rosin, which is legal and thrown water on himself in the dugout all the time. He'll he still wears the same jersey from years ago. Some people will really find anything they can to discredit a team. Toronto is the last team that should talk about cheating.
  12. I thought the deal was okay at best, especially after Napoli had failed the physical. If he continues playing this way, he'll get that 13 million easy.
  13. I don't think he'll be super consistent. I think it will be similar, but hopefully not exactly as last year. I'm glad he's getting back into the groove, but with this team I don't expect consistency.
  14. This team does has talent, however hard work beats talent every time if talent doesn't work hard. And that is what is going on. I'm not a delusional fan that doesn't see the problem. I see it, I saw it from the beginning. There was no reason to get Hamilton if you couldn't get a decent pitching staff to keep things together. That in itself was a very short-sighted move in my opinion. Getting Blanton and Hanson were moves that shouldn't of happened. They were mere panic moves that happened because there was no one out there that "they wanted". The opportunities were there.
  15. ^ Adding to this point, most of the teams I loved growing up had a dynasty at one point that was forgotten because the new team was winning it all. So far my mood about the Angels is this. I'm mildly happy when they win, but if they lose it really isn't that big of a deal anymore. With Red Sox winning, I definitely feel hyped, and I feel that way even if they lose. Right now what is distracting me from caring too much is the fact that I just got into hockey. And I'm really excited to try and attend a playoff game.
  16. Sure it blows. But laughing stock? Doubt it. It is simply surprising that "the team is so talented" and we are basically doing nothing. There are plenty of teams that have done worse, past and present. The Marlins' and Pirates come to mind. One team has 2 WS and no one in that town could give a f***. And the Pirates haven't had a .500 season since I was born. The payroll issue is the most obvious. The Dodgers are in a heap of trouble of their own. The reason our flaws become so apparent is the fact that we aren't the "real" LA team so any shot they have to further discredit us the better. It definitely could be a lot worse. Last year I was all on board with Scioscia. Now, not as much. I'm not sure things in Boston would be the same if Bobby was still the skipper. So maybe, just maybe it is time for a change. Also the focus on getting some kind of pitching depth helps.
  17. I agree. I'm happy for Howie and enjoyed his excitement since I was able to attend the game tonight. But I still don't see him as a clutch hitter. Don't feel that way about many of these hitters lately.
  18. I really think I might hate Ranger fans more than Yankee fans in general sense with this. Any "Rangers" fan is delusional if they truly believe Dallas is a baseball town. Pfft. Nothing like not filling up a stadium on a FRIDAY night because of HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL. Does this writer not realize, it's a Monday for christ's sake.Do you really think people are going to make it there early, let alone on time when you basically just got off work. Such butt hurt.
  19. On the car ride home, I talked with my bf about that. It seems really off. Maybe he doesn't have the green light, but if he doesn't have it he definitely isn't trying to use his speed to his advantage. There might be more than one factor, but it is somewhat disheartening to see someone with that speed just standing at first base waiting for someone to hit the ball before he decides he should run.
  20. I personally would have preferred getting absolutely next to no hits over 13 LOB?! That's way too many people on base for basically NOTHING to happen. I'm glad CJ was able to eventually to get it together but why can't he get it together BEFORE giving up 3 runs? Hamiltown really needs to stop the pressing, and just focus on getting on base. Take some pitches Hamilton, it won't hurt I promise.
  21. To continue with this wonderful analogy, I think of Trout being the very shy quiet girl that no one wanted because she wasn't a slut right off the back, but once you get her to trust you and fall in love with you, she'll totally bang you anyway you want it you just have to be patient. That being said, we don't want to let the quiet girl go buck wild crazy and then leave us because we aren't rich enough.
  22. Watching the game, that was definitely the most frustrating part for my bf and I to watch. Once that 3 Run Hr was hit, I pretty much wanted to throw the controller at the tv.
