Is there any local news you love?
angelsfan100 replied to The Ghost of Bob Starr's topic in The Official Hangout Forum
abc15 out here in AZ has a anchor named Katie Raml. She was quite hot for a time, but then got married. In fact she married some dude who played for the D'backs (lucky dawg). But now she's gone downhill a bit. But there's also April Warnacke over on 3tv who's a meteorlogist, and a legit one. She's pretty fine. I saw her at a Safeway once. I don't really watch local news anymore. Mostly due to the poor qaulity and the boring pre-packaged segments. -
I know it's "the holidays" so maybe FA market probably simmers down durirng this week. However I can't help but think the Angels have yet to sign some guys to get excited about by now. I'm not expecting some big splash FA signing, but there's gotta be something there.

No. He's just another player to me now. I'll laugh if he fails though.

AlaNNA Rizzo may be the dumbest person in MLB Media

Chuck with a common W. -
This guy probably started following baseball last year or something if he has takes like this. This guy probably thinks baseball innings should be timed.

LA Times: Angels clubhouse was “Twenty-five plus one.”

Now hear me out. What if we could clone players like Ohtani? And just have an entire pitching staff of ohtanis -
SI: Angels reportedly worried about Rendon's attitude
angelsfan100 replied to fan_since79's topic in LA Angels | MLB Daily
I was at a Spring Training game last March. I sat out in the RF bleachers in the second row. It was exciting to see all the players walk by and how excited they were to interact with the young fans. I saw Logan O'Hoppe sign some kid's D'backs hat. The kid, who was probably 9 or 10 years old at best was absolutely ecstatic he got a big league player to sign his hat, even if it wasn't a guy who played for his team. O'Hoppe probably made a fan for life right there. However I saw Rendon walking in probably a few minutes before first pitch with some woman. Either his wife, family member or someone with the Angels org. However kids begged him for his autograph and he didn't even give them a look. -

As a non-cali resident, I do not read the LA Times so I am not familiar with this writter. However he seems to not be well liked by many of my fellow AW comrades. However setting such and such aside - I think many on here are correct in pointing out how other players should have simply gotten over this. But at the same time team chemistry is very important to have a winning culture. If what this is true then it really doesn't surprise me one bit. Besides tying up $40/50 million a year, I was in favor of the Angels not resigning him becuase I felt he was too much of a distraction preventing us from putting together a team to compete for the post season. The team was bending to his every whim to ensure his success. Which, of course when you have a superstar like Ohtani that is what you gotta do. However at times it felt it was more about what was best for Ohtani, and not the Angels. I don't hold any ill will towards Ohtani. But I really do wonder if the Dodgers can embrace a guy like Ohtani who is quiet, shy and incredibly humble. He may not fit the mold of that "Dodger culture". Which is bascially to be a brash, obnoxious a-hole at all times. However, after some moping around here including myself I am over it. Let's just move on. -
Good thing about Ohtani being gone is I don’t have to constantly answer for the angels “wasting his career” to people whenever they find out I’m an angels fan. like at work a few years ago coworker: oh you like baseball, you have a team? me: yeah I’m a huge angels fan *coworker looks disgusted coworker: how does it feel knowing you’re wasting Ohtanis and trouts careers? me in my head: gee dipshit, I’m just a random dude. As if I have any say in those decisions anyways I just kinda laughed and said how we’ve had issues with injuries and need some Pitching. my idiot coworker then went on about how he would never cheer for a losing team blah blah. And how he doesn’t understand why I would want to be an angels fan since they’re “so embarrassing”. I hate casual fans so much. I’m sure that idiot was probably one of the first to buy an Ohtani dodger jersey.

Unfollowed anything baseball related minus the Angels on IG. Got really tired of the constant Dodger knob polishing -
Honestly I like this approach. It's over. It happened. I won't be rooting for Ohtani, but I also won't be rooting against him. He's just another super star playing for a team I don't care about. Time to move on. I have a good feeling going into Spring Training.

Do the Angels owe us an explanation?

I'm curious - but what happens with the giant poster of Ohtani they took down outside the stadium
