Dickerson is likely to still cost something valuable in a deal too. CYoung fills our immediate need cheaply.
Since TB designated him, I was suggesting he could/should have been the PTBNL making Young a redundant signing and moving Cole to the bench. I love Cole's intensity (ala Erstad) and bat flip but he seems to me to now be the forth outfielder/1B replacement. I think we could have done much more with Young's 2M (like your suggestion about Walker).

Ugh, I was hoping for a better defensive fourth OF. Chris Young is terrible in CF and bad in the corners.
At least he's a decent hitter vs lefties though.
And I don't mind the Carter signing since he'll give us some minor league depth.
This was my response too. I think I would rather have Corey Dickerson than Chris Young.

Didn't he buy his yacht in 2016?
It would be fun to see if his losses with the Angels were used as tax write-offs for future years or other businesses. I'm not saying people shouldn't make money, I'm just saying rich people shouldn't talk about their money and expect others to feel empathy for them.

Since Maybin got traded, wouldn't resigning him cost us a pick?

He wasn't signed to 2B, Eppler asked him if he would consider playing 2B, and then Kinsler deal fell into Eppler's lab and he asked Cozart to play 3B instead, he said yes and signed to play 3B instead.
No wonder Eppler makes such good decisions--he has a lab!
As I said in another post. I hope Eppler signs Moose still and we can then get rid of one or all of Kinsler, Cron, and Valbeuna.

Like many Angels fans, I've taken the express train to disappointment for many seasons. Not in 2002 and not this year!

You’re not a bad fan but Kinsler is going to make us a better team.
Perhaps, so too would Moustakas IMHO. But at first sign of failure, I'm starting the dump Kinsler club. We will have jackets.

"If Cozart can come close to what he did last season I'l like to see him in front of Trout. (Have him lead-off, with Kinsler 9th)"
I'm either a really bad fan or I just can't root for a feminine hygiene product like Kinsler (same went for #0).
My hope still is that Cozart moves to second and Kinsler and Cron are traded after we sign Moustakas at the last minute before spring training.

I hope as well that the lack of movement now for this year as well as the one-year of Kinsler means that Eppler is looking for large improvements for next year. If not, then arghhhh!

Examples of just a cartoon:
If you've joked about or laughed at the idea that some have longer male reproductive organs based upon their race, then you've been influenced by racist iconography.
The point is this isn't about being offended. It is about iconography (the mapping of images), which is how racial stereotypes form and are maintained. Race is an artificial social construct that imparts a myriad of meanings--positive and negative. It's pretty clear that the Chief Wahoo image created false images at best and negative racial stereotypes at worst. It's historically relevant because many, including all the posters here, have imparted significance to it, whether that be about racism, political correctness, or parental guidance.

But whatever. It's after country. If people want to waste their time and energy on finding ways to be upset about embroidery on a hat, then that's up to them
We certainly can agree to disagree. However, the history here is pretty clear. Back in 300 B.C., Aristotle said that those not using reason can only become noble savages--the idea that is still behind most non-Indians' thoughts of Indians: read here. It has everything to do with racism and iconography. Tobacco and baseball were part and parcel to this branding as has been Hollywood. It is akin to the Sambo image of African Americans. Do you think Sambo's restaurant took down its images because people had nothing better to do than complain?

It's less about buying power and more about who makes the most noise. ... remember the chick that tried to get Married With Children off the air? And you're probably right .... he likely would try to prevent them from selling throwback stuff with Wahoo on it. Again -- to appease the loud ones.
No, it's about racism and what we teach our kids. Take this for example:
-
The problem Cleveland ownership has had is that the image is a big seller--kids love the caricature and buy the image in bundles.
The problem American Indians have had (for quite some time) is that it is a racist image. There was no such chief or family/tribe. This issue, for example, was dealt with regarding Chief Illiniwek back in 2007.
Simply put, these are fictitious creations conceived by non-Indians that, unfortunately, continue racist ideas. If you want to celebrate real people, then use real people.

I have a lot of respect for people who admit that they made a mistake when they don't have to and it is a relatively minor point. I appreciate Jeff posting on this site.

I hear Dee Gordon can play center.

I wish it was Trout who wrote that quote and made that prediction. I would think Trout is the best recruiter this team has.

All very well reasoned Mr. Fletcher. Bummer though, it would be fun seeing Trout, Upton, and Stanton in the same lineup. I guess we will have to see that only on PS4.

I was actually thinking about this as well. The fate of the world could depend on Angelswin.
I appreciate the sarcasm. I don't appreciate the obligatory references to Pearl Harbor and Chinatown when mentioning someone who is Japanese.

Matsui played here? How did he do?
Angels are lowering the right field fence to 8ft

Yep, plus another double that would now be a home run.
I wonder if The Show still has time to make the changes to the ballpark before its late March release.
