Not to worry though. Andrew Velasquez's roster spot remains safe as always

TROUT will REQUEST a TRADE... once Ohtani starts free Agency a day after the World Series.
Works for me. It's time.

Obviously Perry was desperate to get Shohei to the playoffs and the players didn't respond-or responded in a distrastrious fashion- however you want to see it. Is this setting up for a rebuild going forward in 2024? Could Trout finally be traded while he has some value so we don't have the "Angels have Trout and Ohtani and can't win" albatross finally off our necks? I for one as a fan would not mind not having that weight anymore. Assuming Ohtani isn't an Angel in a few months, just sets up a lot of questions on where the Angels are heading.
-
I gave Perry credit for going for it back in July and I stand by that. However, I'm not sure I've ever seen a team in history fall on their face after going for it like this team did. Just when I think every low has been achieved, they come back with another low. So who's everyone's NL/2nd favorite team?

We just can't have 1 night where everything goes well.
-
I know we're playing for very little at this point but I have to admit if they pound on the Mets- offseason champions 4 years in a row by the media, Billy Eppler's current team and the media's favorite landing spot for Ohtani- it would be incredibly satisfying.

So much to say, with this joke of a franchise now 17-29 in past 46 days. This is kind of a repeat of 2022. Once was bad enough!
Farm system inconsistent since 2010!
Bad acquisitions!
Horrible big money FA signings!
Too many bad GM hires!
Team QUITS under adversity! Bunch of QUITTERS!
Constantly in upper half in MLB in most days lost for regulars to injury! Need new medical and conditioning staffs!
Moreno only cares about power hitting, as other teams are increasing their team speed a lot more!
Fundamentals on the field are lacking! Moreno doesn’t care about those either!
Pitchers fall apart under adversity!
Maybe the first team in MLB history to go 7-17 to start August, after going all in to win!
Even Minasian, for some of the good things done, also struck out on a lot of the mid-season acquisitions!
Drafting Schanuel 11th when rated in the upper 20s, AND paying him full 11th pick slot money! And compound the problem by promoting him after just a month in the minors!
Drafting essentially an injury prone late innings reliever in Bachman at #9 in 2021!
Ever since Scioscia retired, consistently mediocre managers and coaching staffs!
Ever since Scioscia retired, disconnect seems to usually exist between FO and the bench!
This is a franchise in total disarray, and is one of the laughing stocks of MLB!
One common denominator: the unholy trio of Moreno/Carpino/Kuhl!
Moreno can’t even bother to sell the team, when it was an obvious necessity! He is a megalomaniac!
No wonder they find it hard to bring in a real GM!
Reagins garbage!
Dipoto garbage!
Eppler garbage, enjoy it Mets fans!
Minasian, jury still out!
Don’t let radio broadcast team travel!
Moreno so cheap with minor league players allowances that MLB was forced to change the rules!
I’m sick and I’m tired!
I’m sick and I’m tired!
I’m sick and I’m tired!
Of losing seasons EVERY SINGLE SEASON since 2017 with no end in sight!
An embarrassment to MLB!
Let it out man I'm right there with you. I used to wear my Angels gear proudly and now I never do. I've become embarrassed to be a fan of this team. I've found one thing that has helped though is I unfollowed all the non Angels related baseball pages on FB and Twitter I was following and that has reduced my agitation a lot. I think the constant ridiculing and mocking from dickbags like Ben Verlander and Jared Carrabis as well as mocking comments from fans of other teams really was a huge source of venom for me. I don't need to hear for the 50 millionth fucking time they're wasting Trout and Ohtani. I already know. Removing that and being on this board, aka therapy group, has been good to get through shitty season after shitty season. From 2016 on it just feels like one big pile of shit and all seasons have just been the fucking same.

Dodgers, Braves, and now the Orioles are teams that can get it done. Up and down the lineup. Well balanced with good pitching. Might I dare say, well managed too?
Amen. I was just hoping they would pick the kid up over the next 5 at bats and not have the loss on this shoulders. Disappointing.

The Reds with 11 rookies are in a 3-way tie for the third WC spot in the NL.
I know the Reds are a good up and coming team but my comment was an indictment on the rest of the team more than Schanuel being a rookie. If the Dodgers had a rookie 1B make an error in the 5th that cost them 3 runs they would have scored 5 the next half inning and would have won. The rest of the team just mailed it in after that error imo. Or I guess they just suck which is likely too. Pitiful.

Haha so the rookie makes an error that cost them 3 runs and then the mostly veteran team just sits down and wilts the rest of the game and doesn't pick the kid up. What a team.
-
So nice a game like this gets to be decided by a little league wiffle ball rule. I really wish they could at least compromise and play 2 or 3 innings of real baseball before going to this.
-
Now Neto just needs to get back so we can DFA Velasquez haha

Sandoval and Detmers are both GUTLESS!!!
Someone on the coaching staff needs to challenge them!
They aren’t kids anymore.
I want to see C.J. Sandoval get jettisoned but I just know he'll go somewhere else and be a star. Decisions decisions....

Begging Angels fans to stay away from the Big A the rest of the goddamn year. These guys have quit so it's time for the fans to quit going. Make them play in front of a parking garage the rest of the year. I would assume everyone is used to staying away from the Big A in August and September so probably won't be a problem.

Hey Detmers, nice two gopher balls to a guy hitting .103 and hadn’t played MLB since 2015!!!!!
You suck supreme!
Somewhere Joe Blanton is going "at least I didn't give up 2 HR's to Singleton in a game" (chugs beer on the couch)

A pot smoking 31 year old minor hitting under .100 at that. Way to go Detmers for stepping up 2 big starts in a row buddy!

If they somehow go 4 of 6 on this Houston/Texas roadtrip I may torment myself again into thinking they still have a chance.

That play for the Angels just seems cursed. I seem to remember Walsh uncorking a few of those earlier this year too before he got sent down.

I just turned it for the first time tonight to see Moniak tie the game and all I've got to say is it is a delight to see the outfield seats and a lot of seats behind home plate empty. Send a message fans!
