Now Ohtani's CG is huge! We're looking at best a 5 inning slog from Sandoval. Looks like a completely different guy than the Yankees outing last week.
-
An Ohtani CG would be the best possible way to start a doubleheader today. Give the bullpen a huge break.

What's the record for outs at home plate in a single season? I feel like whatever it is we're close to breaking it. Good job to Cabbage though for the sac fly!

After 7 losing seasons sitting and doing nothing is not the answer. I give lot of credit to Arte and Perry for direction for rest of 2023. Time has come to go all in. Moves picking up Moose and Escobar have really helped. Ifor going for itf they lose Ohtani maybe they sign Gio. Props to Arte for going for it.
Couldn't have said it better myself. We tried the "stand pat and maybe we'll be competitive in 5 years" approach with Billy Eppler and it got us nowhere. I give Perry credit for trying with this trade, and for trading for Moose and Escobar the same weekend about a month ago. I never saw Quero play or anything, but once O'Hoppe emerged earlier this year as the starting catcher I figured he was probably blocked with the Angels. At least if they fall short and miss the playoffs again this year I can applaud them for the effort. Hopefully the boys respond and kick some ass in the doubleheader today. Let's go!!

Should the Angels go on to win this game I'd love to see someone in the media actually headline the story by saying something like... "Angels win despite Ohtani's 4HRs allowed and suckage on the mound". Because lord know anytime he does something and they lose they all have to make some sort of snarky comment.
Also, obligatory "Ohtani is trying to drive down his trade value" comment.
Man you are a million percent correct. They love having their poison pens ready when Ohtani has a big game and they lose. When Trout and Ohtani homer in the same game and they lose it's even worse.

Ohtani obviously didn't pitch to his standards tonight but he gave up all solo home runs. Besides the back to back he recovered nicely after each one. I'll take that over walking the ballpark any day. Offense and bullpen need to go get him the win now!

Fuck, I'm starting to feel hopeful. Consider...
Ohtani is Ohtani. Ward has been hot and looks like he figured out whatever is wrong. Moniak keeps hitting. Neto is back. Silseth probably had his best start as a major leaguer, Canning looked great, Sandoval was in better form. And...
Drury and Rendon will be back (right?) and we can hope to see Trout and O'Hoppe at some point in August.
Dare I say it...this team could be primed for a very good second half.
I'm right here too. I know it's possible but I don't want to get my hopes up haha

Great job by Moore! Gave up a solo hr but shook it off and shut the door. I always say as a longtime baseball fan I would rather my pitcher give up a solo HR than a leadoff walk with a lead late in the game.

Great job by Nevin pulling Silseth and letting the Yankees get life.

LOL@16th straight game with a homer. Yeah, because that's the only way they score runs.
And, so far, they've lost 13 of those games...
Bingo. They don't how to hit sac flies, doubles, singles etc... All they do is either strikeout or hit a solo homerun when they're already behind.

Whether it's hitting or pitching, these guys could fuck up a wet dream. Jesus Christ. You almost have to try hard to fuck up this bad all the time.

I can't decide if Cabbage looks more like Josh Hamilton or Jared Walsh

For those who can bear watching this week after today's disaster, it will be interesting to see this Yankees series considering the Yankees and Angels both had gut punching losses today and seem to be heading in the same direction. Unfortunately my gut feeling is the Yankees will be the ones to win 2 of 3 from this nosedive upcoming series.

Unbelievable!
Sounds like these fuck'n announcers are gonna finally "nut in their trousers".
They've been itching for this all night!
They want the Angels to trade Ohtani so this is what they want for sure. Fuck Barria, fuck Nevin, fuck MLB. Fuck ESPN. Fuck it all. Goodnight folks

I feel like the season is on the line right now. A loss here and they'll be sellers.

Yikes. Walking the lead-off hitter?
Not only the leadoff hitter but a .136 hitter who all he can do is run. For fuck's sake

Whoa wait did we finally get Tucker out? Haha

Only way to make them shut the fuck up is to suck less. I would like this very much. All these national pundits are fucking brutal to read and listen to.
I agree a million percent we've hurt ourselves with this. But we as fans all know and have known for a long time. But I've gotten to where I can't handle any takes on the Angels on the national level. Especially this year with it being Ohtani's contract year it's been extra brutal.

It's always so nice of the Angels to give struggling pitchers a boost.
