If Ohtani leaves 2 more starters.

This off season will need at least 6 new BP pieces.

I don't think you can "count" Lopez past this year, even if the Angels do sign him. There's no way to tell if he would have signed here, regardless.
Also, I know folks on here love Moustakas and there's no doubt he's been good in certain situations--but if you look at the underlying data, there are some troubling patterns (K/BB rates, exit velocity, GB %). I'm still ok bringing him back on a one-year, low-value deal--but I think people need to chill on him just a bit.
Moose 1 year deal 4 mill. I wait and sign him late in off season as he will not be in high demand with his age. I do like Moose and Drury as vets in clubhouse. If Ohtani leaves could get some ab at DH.

What Ohtani does in the off season?
Ohtani is going to another team. I honestly don't think his injury changes that one bit. Winning is still what's important to him, nothing has changed in the past week. Winning is not something that is realistic if he stays in Anaheim.
The only question at this point is, whether someone is going to offer him a mind blowing long-term deal, or he'll have to wait a little longer, and sign for perhaps 2 years, and wait out his recovery from TJ surgery.Maybe he gets
If he's going to DH for the next 1-2 seasons, why would he want to do that for a Below .500 team like the Angels, when almost certainly, better options will present themselves.
I hate to admit it but I also think he is going to another team. If he has TJS maybe more comfortable with halos in rehab. No guarantee how well he can pitch after TJS. Maybe he is tired of doing both and wants to play in OF. Things have changed with his injury. I do feel Angels will wait to see what happens with Ohtani. If he just is DH takes AB from players who might want day off from field but still be in lineup.

The reason I disregarded it is because it’s all stuff that happened 10 years ago involving a bunch of people who no longer work for the Angels.
I think it’s been well chronicled that the Angels have skimped on things besides big league payroll at times during Arte’s tenure. So unless it’s something current or involving current employees, it doesn’t seem newsworthy.
Will Angels wait to see what Ohtani does in off season before making any moves?

That's good news. Very scary moment

He loves to compete, people come to see him play. He is pretty good when he plays. I hope he stays and plays for halos in 2024.

I just wanted to post a silver lining of sorts.
If the Angels were in the race, this would have been the ultimate gut punch. So I guess that's good. Right?
I remember when Garrett Richards got hurt in Boston. Halos went on a run then. I believe it could happen again.

His injury has made his pending free agency much more interesting.

Why would Ohtani do that?
He could just get a big guaranteed deal and get an opt out or have pitching bonuses included to account for the fact that his pitching career is uncertain.
Do you think Ohtani might just give up pitching and become a position player. When do you think he will decide on TJS?

I wonder if, after the TJS and the rehab, if Ohtani and whichever team that he signs with, (I hope he stays), would consider using him as a closer?
One inning four to five times per week, and allowing him to continue to DH.
That would not be till 2025. So if he is batting third in B8 how could he warm up? I think he might give up pitching. Wonder what kind of numbers could he put up just hitting.

Maybe Ohtani signs 1 year deal with halos. Have TJS do his rehab with Angels and become FA after 2024. Would Angels do that? Would Ohtani want to do that?

Teams don’t get to do their own physicals on players before trades. The acquiring team would just get the original teams medical info.
If he has TJ could he play in OF or 1B sometime next year? If he has surgery, would he be able to DH start of season 2024?

Watching Ohtani hit 50 plus HR before he leaves. Waiting for return of Rendon.

I'm sure Trout feels as he has let down this team. All the talk was still about Ohtani yesterday. Sit Trout rest of season and see what happens next year. He will not traded as nobody will take on his contract. If halos resign Ohtani DH spot would be locked up so Trout would be back in OF. All halo fans can hope for is that Dodgers get knocked out in playoffs.
