Rosenberg over under 4 inns. tonight

Go get healthy Shohei. You are truly great for this game. Wherever you sign wish you nothing but the best.

Jeez. 9 runs, 7 hits (3 HR), and 3 walks in 3 IP. He keeps driving down his free agent value.
I wonder if there's something physically wrong with him at this point?
He has a sore neck turning around watching balls fly over the fence.

I hope they give him ample time on rehab. No, need to rush him back.

Seems it would not hurt to have them in dugout. Makes other coaches look bad. Advisors are they going to be in ear of younger players. Could they talk to Rendon find anything out.
-
Another fine outing by Giolito today.

MLB front office and MLB players union both agree. 3 year sentence pitching for halos would too cruel a punishment.

Idk how he only got 20 games for his last incident.
MLB should drop the hammer with a second-time offender.
Unless he signs with Angels. Well that might be worse than the hammer. Must pitch with halos 3 years.

And the trade talk needs to stop.
No team is going to take on $252 million for a guy that barely plays over half his games anymore.
Teams would just depending how much money halos pitch in. Angels chip in 75 to 100 mill teams would trade for him.

Should be a short conversation. Trout walks in and says "GET ME OUT OF HERE"

Sure, but the Cardinals are still 5 games "ahead" of the Angels for that slot. Six is more achievable.
You have so little faith in the halos

If Trout stays, make him player manager.

Call him up and play him instead of Grichuk. There is literally no reason to be playing Grichuk at this point.
I agree

Sure, but they could have brought up Adams or something instead of activating Thaiss.
If Adams is not going to play every day leave him down.

As much as we would all love Stassi to be back and contributing, it’s inspiring to see him prioritize his family over career. My prayers are with him and his family whatever the situation is. Hopefully everything comes to the best possible conclusion in the months to come and we can welcome him back next year. Hang in there Max!
Well said

Ohtani will not hit number 45 today.

I wish Max Stassi the best in his situation.

What a radical implosion in six weeks. From a respectable wild card contender gamely trying to overcome adversity to a team getting their ass kicked by the A's. Along with most other teams. And mostly looking pathetic and heartless.
Not sure if there was a single event or moment that can be singled out. Maybe the deadline deals that fizzled out almost immediately. Trout's absence. Pitching collapse. Lack of leadership. Terrible mistakes at the wrong time. Feeble clutch play. The recognition that Ohtani can't do everything by himself.
Likely a mix of things. Like the old roadrunner cartoon when he's in mid air and looks down and realizes he can't keep going. Then dropping to a dramatic crash.
I'm afraid next year will be a mess. But there will be enough drama to make it interesting.
The drama will come this off season. Ohtani, Trout, Selling team, bad free agent signings.

so if you're a baseball gm, what would you trade for an incredibly expensive superstar who's getting older and can't stay healthy?
when you can answer that honestly, then you'll realize how difficult trading him is going to be.
Angels would have to eat a lot of that contract for sure. Yankees, Philly others would try to make a deal. Team that let him DH once or twice a year. If halos going into rebuild mode I try and move him. Angels are not winning anytime soon.

With no more Shohei, Mike is going to be the only really marketable player on the team that has the capability of drawing in the fans. He'll be good for 2-3 bobblehead and 3 or 4 t-shirt/jersey nights per season alone. There's no chance he gets traded, and what team is going to take on his contract given his recent difficulty in playing anything close to a full season.
Angels would have to eat some of the money. What good is Trout on a team in rebuild mode. After 8 losing seasons and Ohtani gone Trout could be traded.

Nonsense. He deserves what the Angels are paying him - which is a lot - and nothing more.
He is wasted on Angels and after 8 losing seasons get rid of some of that contract.

What book are we going to throw at him. Has to be hard cover a paperback would not hurt. If halo pitchers throwing probably miss Julio.
