  1. He actually hit righties better last year than lefties, in significantly more at bats. That implies to me that he has room to improve - players rarely hit better vs the same handed pitchers.
  2. The game is moving in this general direction, there are two hindrances impeding this change. 1) Limited roster spots - rosters would need to be expanded to accommodate the extra pitchers teams would need to really pull this off. 2) Lack of talent - While teams will be using their pitchers in a more impactful manner, this comes at the cost of needing to give more innings to worse pitchers who previously wouldn't have been pitching. The real question is where does the balance point lie. If the impact of shorter outings is greater than the drop off from the last guy in the pen to the first few guys at AAA, then we could end up seeing this.
  3. It's certainly a great way to study for a test.
  4. Maybe Albert should start chewing?
  5. Pretty interesting list, considering they are all Angels products and likely what this team would look like today if we just never made any moves.
  6. He has altered his stance this year, going with a noticeable leg lift rather than the toe tap. I think he is cheating on pitches, either to make up for his inability to get to the fastball, or to make up for the power lost by his bad foot. The end result is more strikeouts / mistimed swings in exchange for hitting the ball harder when he makes contact.
  7. He was caught looking at the replay on the jumbotron...
  8. Ya, Runge was one of the better ones - that last strike call of Humber's perfect game aside.
  9. "Joe West, president of the World Umpires Association" Scary quote from the article...
  10. He #throwsstrikes He's old and winning with excellent command. He may have benefited from the roids but he follows a classic pattern for success late in a pitchers career, and that's excellent control.
  11. Not sure anyone expected him to outhit Hamilton.
  12. Hamilton is like the kid in Little League that is just not nearly as good as the rest of the kids, and never gets a hit...
  13. I think I might actually have more confidence in Jeff Mathis at the plate right now...
  14. Hamilton is hurting this team in so many more ways beyond just typical suckage... lets cross our fingers here...
  15. And yet so many on here were questioning why some of us were so bullish on Bourjos this year...
