  1. Halos of Anaheim, on 02 Jun 2013 - 4:06 PM, said: Hahaha, Case in point.
  2. Just realized this picture is to scale...
  3. No, where the guy sits there with the kids and acts like the things they say are reasonable.
  4. At this point they need to consider what is best for next season. If every day we run Albert out there from now on this season is a day he is limited next season then it's a mistake to put off the inevitable.
  5. It realy has nothing to do with being 'old school' or ignoring advanced stats. It's a complete disregard for the value, or even existence, or defensive value or baserunning. Chicks dig the long ball.
  6. Now it looks like they are all kids... This season has kind of felt like those at&t commercials...
  7. Bourjos value was pretty low in this offseason. General perception of him was roughly the equivalent to Dee Gordon. About the only thing keeping his value up was DiPoto's faith in his ability this year. We would not have got a very good return for him this offseason IMO. Think of Bourjos like a stock, he might never have been in the Angels long term plans, but the team may see him as a solid short term investment.
  8. BOTTOM LINE: When Bourjos and Trout are on the same team their value is maximized with Trout in LF and Bourjos in CF. Trout in LF does not maximize his value, therefore THEORETICALLY trading one of Bourjos / Trout for an equivalent valued LFer would maximize the teams value. This is only true if you assume trade markets are completely efficient, THEY ARE NOT. A trade of Bourjos is unlikely to bring us back a equivalently valued player in return. The question then becomes 'which loss is least significant, the loss of defensive value from Trout playing LF, or the loss of total value of a lesser player replacing Bourjos?'
  9. This is why Trout should be playing LF every day...
  10. Back to back bang bang plays going the Dodgers way..
  11. Capuano is getting really lucky here. Bunt single followed by a line drive near DP, followed by an infield pop up by Albert, and then back to back walks. Could easily have given up a few runs here, but he might get out of it...
  12. Well he was just talking about Pujols in general, but we all know where Vin has seen Albert the most, and the descriptions he was giving were NOT of the player we've seen with the Angels.
  13. Love hearing Vin talk about Pujols Cardinal career...
  14. I think if he can live around 89/90 he'll be fine.
  15. ZiPs see Williams going 4.47 ERA rest of the way and Blanton 4.60 rest of the way, so not a big difference. My only thing here is that Blanton has been TERRIBAD and most of the sabr stats always seem optimistic about him. I can buy Jerome at 4.47 the rest of the way, but I'm not sold on Joe Blanton's career being any more than on life support.
  16. I don't think Scioscia can afford to make a decision like this at this point. If he let's Blanton continue to get lit up every 5 days while Williams pitches well out of the pen he will be out of a job at the end of the season when we miss the playoffs.
  17. I think ZiPs had him projected as the best pitcher in baseball coming into this season.
  18. You can see the people in the outfield bleachers looking out behind the stadium trying to see where the ball landed.
  19. Mo Vaughn hit one off the top of the right field scoreboard in Shea back around 2003 or so. It was over 500 ft and man did it make that park look small. The scoreboard itself was probably 30ft behind the fence and it probably hit about 50+ feet up that thing.
