Can Giolito pitch Friday in Toronto?

If our coach tells us that our closer is not available because he warmed up the night prior, how are we as fans supposed to feel about our players playing 2 complete baseball games in one day? Our star players need an extra day of rest after flying across the country after having a day off the day before… No wonder there is such concern. There are probably some posters who can’t believe that there used to be somewhere around 4-5 doubleheaders a season, except @Angels 1961who used to play whiffle ball with Abner Doubleday.

I didn’t get to see the game after the 4th inning @Jayso I only know what I read, but to answer your last question, since none of the runs were earned, it doesn’t go down as a blown save. The theory is, if the plays would have been made, the runs/runners would never have been on base to start. I heard through reading, the defense wasn’t too great in the 9th.

Moniak has made two great plays in the last 3 hitters.

Here’s another stat I just read. Brian Harman made 59 out of 60 putts within 10 feet. Are you kidding me? That’s an absolutely insane stat. I wish I could make half of that. Simply an incredible stat. I couldn’t believe it, especially with the conditions on a course hosting a Major.

Sandoval is absolutely spot on in his assessment of how the Angels pitchers are having a hard time putting away hitters when they are ahead in the count. It’s been frustrating to watch that all season. Not only are they having a hard time giving up 2 strike hits, they have given up a lot of 2 strike home runs also. The good thing is these guys are pretty young and hopefully, they can work this out. I’m really hoping for good things from Sandoval, Detmers and Canning. Shohei will always be Shohei.

Great win. Anderson pitched well today. Rengifo played great offensively and defensively. Moore and Estevez righted the leaky bullpen ship. Shohei hit #36. A much needed series win.
