    I am not a fan of platoons, except when both players are well into their 30's and showing sign of diminished skills. As far as Cowgill goes, i think one can make a case for him being the teams MVP for the 1st two months of the season.

    The thing that bothers me most about Pujols is that it seems about once a game he hits into a double play. Instead of making one out, he consistently makes the team give up that extra out in one ab. Talk about a rally killer. I haven't looked up the #'s, but i wouldn't be surprised if he has close to as many dp's as he has rbi's.

    I think Beane paid the $1, cause he figured it was cheaper than trading a bag of baseballs for the guy.

    I have been an Angels fan since the team began. And all i could think of when mike jumped onto home plate, was Kendry Morales walkoff, when he broke his ankle. Gave me a scare for just a moment.

    Doesn't look as though i will be able to get off work to play this year. If i can , i won't know till about a week before the tournament.

    Can't believe i am the only one who admits going on the "Batboy's " site. I use to go on there before i found the other sites as they came along. The site was ok , until the batboy got into arguing with everyone.

    Joyner was the best i have seen at getting the ball to the pitcher covering 1st base. Very solid all around 1st baseman. Kotchman was also a very good all around 1st baseman, but one of the best at digging low throws to 1st. Erstads biggest strength was his range.

    Spencer also won a gold glove in 1970. He also won one in 1977, but not with the Angels. He was brought up to the Angels to replace Dick [ dr. strangeglove ] Stuart.

    I am hoping that after this series with Texas, they will be in our rear view mirrors for the rest of the season. And Oakland next to be passed up.

    When i first heard this guy, my initial reaction was that this guy , when he was in school was probably voted " most likely to get punched out". Annoying as hell!

    Smith seems to be the only member of the pen that should be in the major leagues.

    I believe the play where Hamilton supposedly dropped the fly ball while transferring it cost us a win.

    The thing Frieri needs to figure out is that he has only 1 pitch. And hitters are on to him. They spit on anything other than a fastball. He should be demoted until he can get other pitches over for strikes. Until then, we will have this recurring theme of blowing games in the late innings. And , please, just release Jepson. He doesn't belong in a mlb uniform.

    They may get above .500 for a day or 2. But they won't maintain it.

    We could also use replacements for Salas, Jepson, Kohn and others in the bullpen.

    Freese is reminding me of Gary Gaetti , when he was an Angel. A solid player who turned into crap when he was here. Trade him for a low A player, and he will return to a decent player on his new team. As bad as Freese is now, i don't think Cowart would be this bad if brought up.

    While watching Frieri in the 9th inning, it was pretty apparent that the A's were not going to swing at anything but a fastball. I don't recall him being able to throw any other pitch for a strike. Unless Frieri can learn to throw breaking pitches for strikes, he will be throwing batting practice to opponents.

    I don't see anyone passing Pete Rose's hit mark.

    He meant while the team was in Chicago.

    Because he has a MLB contract, he won't be able to be in SLC for that long. There is a specified amount of time players can be on rehab assignments. I forget how long it is. I just know the time varies for pitchers and position players.
