  1. It's a pitcher for a pitcher and we add some top prospects in the deal. Rockies would need to supplement his rotation spot either way and Heaney could be a fill in for them for the season. But yeah, Canning is an option.
  2. We don't have a need for another #4-#5 type guy and we also can't be happy with it because it puts a smile on Jones' face. This moves makes sense if what @Chuckster70 is saying can be true that now we can package someone like Heaney to the Rockies. If there isn't a corresponding move to this then to be completely honest it's the same strategy the Angels have used over the years and it hasn't worked. There's no other way to put it and us Angels fans are lying to ourselves if we think this is really good.
  3. I know it's not 100% spot on, but with recent trades like Darvish, Musgrove and Snell it's been decently close.
  4. I know they aren't but it's been decently close in recent trades. Angels have to up to something or else this makes no sense.
  5. Something ain't right. More needs to be involved in this trade.... Orioles would need to basically pay his entire salary plus give the Angels $1M
  6. I don't know.... This move doesn't make any sense UNLESS we are getting one of their top prospects OR will be making another trade for a top arm. If Cobb compares to another #4 type then the Angels could use that depth for another trade to beef it up somewhere else. Cobb is riddled with injuries and almost the worst in the league with hard contact. $15M is a BIG price for a #4 - #5 type guy. Even if the Orioles eat $10M of that (which they won't) he's not worth it. I would have preferred Odorizzi over Cobb..... Corresponding trade needs to happen or else the Angels are up to their usual BS
  7. They gunna attach Rutschman to it 1% of me thinks maybe cuz we are apparently still looking for catching haha
  8. Totally. Like I just posted... Maybe the Angels get creative with a prospect they might get back and pair him with Upton for someone else
  9. Likely getting a top prospect back if it's a salary dump. Wouldn't mind us taking that prospect then flipping him with Upton to clear $$'
  10. I hate when teams pull the old "he was great for this coach" BS. Dude is past his prime. What a waste of $$
  11. I can't with this team right now.... Unless this means pushing another pitcher in a package with Adams/Jackson for a good arm
  12. I don't think Eppler could have made the team worse so yeah, he put them in a better place just literally by drafting players and not trading them.
  13. Came across this piece that the Angels might still be looking to upgrade at catcher: https://fansided.com/2021/01/29/brewers-josh-hader-trade-rumors/
  14. I'd only want pitching from the Rockies. Anyone with a bat in their hands will have inflated stats that will take a hit once they are out of Colorado. But then again, if it meant taking on money and giving up less prospects to get someone like Marquez thennnnnnnnnn who cares if Story or Blackmon aren't gold. I'll take them!
  15. If it ends up like this then Angels need to call them NOW
  16. Wouldn't a 2.65 ERA in Japan be like a 4 ERA here?
  17. Bauer is one with the most recent success of a Cy Young. IMO I also think he's trending the right direction for it steady success. Then comes the trades. Marquez has tremendous splits when pitching away from Colorado. That could put him in a good spot for more success in future years.
  18. But then again how many more times do we want to keep rolling the dice? Teheran, Harvey, Cahill, Etc.... Do we want someone who we think can harness their previous success? Or get someone who's in the middle of it?
