  1. I would love to bring on Dahl on a cheap contract. Lots of upside and would be a great platoon with Ward and Upton in the corner OF spots. Gives us a solid means of production until Adell/Marsh are ready.
  2. The analysts on MLB network did a piece on the legitimacy of Walsh's breakthrough as well. Glad to see more and more reputable sites buying in
  3. I think we need to have 5 solid SP's and keep Ohtani as a wild card for the 6th spot. We've relied on Ohtani to be the #1 guy last two years and have been burned due to injury. 1. Free Agent SP 2. Bundy 3. Heaney 4. Canning 5. Barria or Free Agent SP2 6. Ohtani I still think Ohtani can be and will be the ace he is capable of, but it's best to err on the side of caution when building our rotation to avoid a repeat of the last decade of relying on injury prone pitchers.
  4. Would love to see a trade involving Lindor and one of their pitchers like Plesac or McKenzie. Maybe something along the lines of: Angels get: Lindor (+21mil), Plesac Indians get: Adell, Suarez, JerJackson, (possibly additional prospects? I'm eye balling it here) Rotation: 1. Plesac 2. Bundy 3. Heaney 4. Canning 5. Taj Walker (2yr/16mil) 6. Ohtani Lineup: 1. Fletcher 2B 2. Lindor SS 3. Trout CF 4. Rendon 3B 5. Walsh 1B 6. Ohtani DH 7. Upton LF (Marsh when ready) 8. Ward RF 9. Stassi C Pen: Hand (2yr/14mil), Mayers, Barria, Pena, Buttrey, Middleton, Sandoval I think this team wins the division. Ideally, we could extend Lindor as well.
  5. I just hope we don't end up being one of those teams that take a huge cut in payroll. Now is the perfect time to take advantage of the market and get some good deals.
  6. Cant wait for the angels to sign him so he can get his 2nd tommy john surgery. But seriously i really hope this isn't true, Didi is basically another Upton with his extreme cold/hot streaks and will cost money we need for SP's. I'm fine with taking a chance on Rengifo/Barreto/Thaiss/Jones at 2B, all of whom have upside. Even a low risk/high reward signing of Ha-Seong Kim would be a more welcomed move. Get us Bauer or a combo of Stroman/Gausman/Walker plus some pen pieces to supplement Pena and Mayers.
  7. What kind of return do you think we could realistically get from trading Simmons?
  8. Tomorrow. Maddon says Ohtani will DH every day and Adell only supposed to miss this one game.
  9. This greatly increases the Angels playoff chances. For reference, if there was a 16-team playoff for 2019, only 7 of the 8 teams in the AL would have had a winning percent over .500. The 8th playoff team would have been the Rangers at 78-84 (.481). Most projections have Angels in the ballpark of 30-30 this year, so our first playoff appearance since 2014 is now very likely
  10. Injury prone player gets injured
  11. I think you're seriously underestimating the talent of Alvarez, Bregman, Correa, and Altuve. That's an absolutely solid core group of guys. Even Brantley and Guirrel are fantastic support pieces. The only questionable part of their team is if their pitching will hold up. They lost Cole. Its only a matter of time until Grienke and Verlander pitch their age. McCullers is a wild card coming of injury. and Whitley, James, and Urquidy are all prospects that still have a lot to prove. Their pen has Pressly and Osuna but not much else. They will still finish over .500 unless by some miracle everything goes wrong.
  12. Good article about Canning's start last night and some of his advanced stats. Canning looked like a top of the rotation guy. https://medium.com/@angelytical/efficiency-is-key-griffin-canning-is-back-97bad89b4ae
  13. Another high risk/high reward guy. Perfectly fits the bill of an Eppler pick
