Justin reacted to Chuck in 6/25 Gameday thread Reds at Angels Pujols batting 6th!
Tovar has had a great inning on the basepaths.
Amazing heads up baserunning right there.

Albert now hitting .429 in his career when he bats 6th. Just imagine if Sosh had him batting there the last 7 seasons.

Can the Angels player of the game be the Reds baserunning? Is that allowed?

I agree with the first part. But he's got two more years of arbitration - how much is he expected to get? I like him personally so I'm probably being foolishly optimistic, but I'm still holding out hope he isn't this bad.

unless you're sitting 12 rows back behind the bullpen, you shouldn't worry.

Justin reacted to Jeff Fletcher in Keynan Middleton and JC Ramírez
I keep reading different people in different threads either with questions or providing misinformation about these guys, so I started a thread (which I never do) so hopefully everyone will see and get caught up.
JC is pitching tonight (6/24). His rehab assignment expires on Saturday (6/29), so at most he’ll have one more outing after tonight. He’s out of options so he’ll be in the majors by Sunday (6/30), barring a setback. I don’t know if he’s going to be a starter or reliever.
Middleton had a setback in early May and is now significantly behind JC. Middleton is throwing off a mound but (as of a few days ago) had not faced hitters. Once he starts facing hitters, it’ll be at least 3-4 weeks before he’s active. But he’s in a holding pattern so I wouldn’t plan on any specific return for him till you read that he’s facing hitters.
There ya go.

I hope Pujols bats again this inning. I feel like he hasn't received enough attention this weekend.

People were complimenting Dan Shulman's announcing for the Blue Jays a few days ago. This is where I really miss him: on Sunday Night Baseball. He brought real insight to the game being played.
These three sound like college kids during first week of freshman year in the dorms: everyone being friendly, making stupid jokes, nobody saying anything interesting or challenging. I probably only missed one or two games per season on Sunday night with Shulman. These days, I probably only watch half a dozen Sunday night games with this crew.

Pujols at bats are the only thing left that matters. Leave it all out on the field Yadi...

As opposed to brown dirt, which is quite exquisite.

No more Skaggs either. The NL is such an inferior product.

50 pitches through 4 IP?
Did Skaggs have a starter?

Exactly. This is what I have been explaining to friends all weekend: St. Louis definitely has great fans. It's the most boring big city in America. They have no football nor basketball team. The Cardinals are a historically great franchise. OF COURSE they're great fans.
What is obnoxious is the way they talk about themselves as if there is some innate level of baseball knowledge in St. Louis that could not be replicated elsewhere in America. If El Paso, Tallahassee, or Omaha were home to the Cardinals, they would have great fans as well.

In defense of St. Louis its not like they have much going on out there, I mean its friggin Missouri, they have meth, they have the St. Louis Blues, and they have the Ram.....I mean...see, they need something to cheer for.
