    I'm cooking pizzas in the outdoor pizza oven this evening while drinking beer and watching the game al fresco. I went inside to grab a couple of ingredients - it feels like 90 seconds - and came back to find the game 2-0. I hate this season. Just like the last few.

    I once saw a kid who couldn't have been more than 15 wearing a firearm at a gas station in the middle of nowhere in Florida. He was trying to grow facial hair but couldn't quite pull it off. Anyway, Austin Warren is the spitting image.

    One year I had a baseball jersey that smelled like cat piss no matter how many times I washed it and the word REBELS was misspelled "REBLES." I would rather wear it again than one of these.

    The A's do the same boom-and-bust thing that you ascribed to the Giants and Padres but, for reasons I will never understand, they get a free pass and everyone forgets that they tanked for three straight seasons. From 2015-2017, the A's finished in last place each year. They did not try to compete. They traded away every asset they had for prospects. From 2018-now, they have enjoyed the benefits of their tanking/rebuild.

    Yankees fans think they're hated because they won so many titles last century. It's because they get so many bullshit calls like that. Still, if you only score 1 run, you rarely deserve to win.

    It's much easier to strike a guy out when you are flat-out given one strike to start the at bat.

    My first thought was Wait, it would be a break if the Angels #10 overall pick turns out to be very good? Then I realized It's the Angels, of course it would.

    I respect that. For me, Ohtani's season has made me even more annoyed that once again Trout is out and once again Angels pitching blows. My defense mechanism has been to just stop caring this season.

    Oh well. There has never been a season in my adult life in which I have cared less about the team.
