Having a top 10 pick next year should be fun. Apparently it's a loaded draft class.
Jim Callis: "There are no such concerns with the 2020 Draft, which already looks like perhaps the best since 2011."

.300/.383/.428 for you fogeys
-
Marsh finishes the year with a 137 wRC+. What a hell of a year.

Good. I really like what he's done to the franchise as a whole.
-
Adell, Marsh, and Jackson all had terrific years. Three really really good raw hitting prospects. Adell obviously the highest upside but man Marsh is looking like he could be a table setter for years to come.

Strasburg would be a great addition and of course Cole.
-
Don't trade Marsh he's going to be Facking great

Honestly a really great year. We got a look at what Canning can do. Ohtani is still an amazing hitter. Trout is Trout. Bedrosian, Robles, Buttrey have shown flashes of greatness. Adell for the most part is living up to expectations, Marsh had a great year and looks like a legitimate top 100 prospect.
We need two good god damn starters.
I'm optimistic about 2020.

No he doesn’t - La Stella was hitting .300/.350/.500/.850 in a breakout season and fits Eppler’s dream offensive skill-set to a T.
Rengifo arguably wouldn’t have even left SLC if Simmons, Cozart, and La Stella all didn’t wind up missing big chunks of time.
I really like Rengifo but I can’t say this enough - having great depth is a great thing to have and is a hallmark of recent championship teams.
If the Angels start 2020 with a Rengifo, Thaiss, Adell, and two of Sandoval, Suarez, Barria, even Canning in SLC, it’s a very good problem to have. A reminder, Wilfredo Tovar got 31 G/90 PA in this season. Bour got 160. Puello, Parker, and Bourjos combined for 115.
I do agree that Thaiss, or Rengifo, are both strong trade candidates.
I feel ya. That Salt Lake team next year is going to be fun to watch no matter what.

That Upton contract might've been a bad idea. Hope he has a good 2020 and then deal him.

I just don't see why you'd play a mediocre fielder like Upton in the outfield and an excellent outfielder like Marsh at 1B. It would be a bit like the Erstad-at-1B years.
Think J-Up would move to First?
-
You gotta wonder if they might look at Marsh at 1B. The guy is really impressing lately and might be the perfect lead off dude in front of Trout and Ohtani for years to come.
-
Rengifo has to have a chance before La Stella next year. I think Thaiss gets dealt this offseason.

I've never seen people argue about something so stupid and pointless, and I write about Trump.

Adams is looking great. Hope he finishes strong.

31-year-old left handed starter in South Korea. One of the more intriguing arms on the market, IMO.

Don't sleep on little Leo Rivas.

Pujols’s combined WAR for the past 4 years is 0.0
-
15th HR for Jackson.
-
Helluva year for Yan.

Maddon had dinner with Arte recently and it’s a done deal.
I know this isn’t my beat anymore but I talked to someone who has been with the team for 20+ years and it’s a done dealio.
Carry on.
