  1. No offense but that was like the dumbest move a manager can make with a day off tomorrow by giving a star player who is healthy like Trout the day off.
  2. Off day tomorrow and Maddon still gives Trout a day today. #stupid
  3. Entering today, the overall MLB slash line for hitters this season is .234/.311/.391. For hitters, has been a total of 8,127 hits and 9,447 strikeouts. What a mess right now for hitters, especially when it comes to making contact with the ball.
  4. Ohtani doesn't pitch deep into games, so he's not an ace. An ace should be able to pitch deep into games. It's not because he walks a lot of hitters. There are a lot of guys who walked many hitters that are still aces like Nolan Ryan and Randy Johnson (before he joined the Diamondbacks). But those guys still pitched deep into games.
  5. No. Stats doesn't always tell the whole story. Trout made two outs on baseballs that were hard hit. Just happened that they were caught.
  6. In 7 games (all starts), Harvey has a 3.60 ERA and 1.29 WHIP in 35 innings of work. He probably thinks he is currently on the Astros.
  7. Against Pujols and Trout, he's done well. But both guys have gone deep against him before at least.
  8. Fletcher doesn't hit low pitches in the strike zone well. I'm shock that pitchers are still trying to throw a lot of high pitches in the strike zone against him. Do they not know the scouting reports on the guy?
  9. Trout is down to .358 this season despite a fluky slump where he doesn't have Rendon hitting behind him. He's the Jordan of MLB. When he has a down period, we overreact. Anyone else, we wouldn't be (bleeping) about it.
  10. Fletcher leading off is a bad idea right now. He's just swinging at anything. If he is not hitting for good average, then his OBP won't be solid. Never been a guy who can draw walks.
  11. Trout's back to stealing bases, check. Trout cutting down his strikeouts, not check. Seriously, the strikeouts are starting to get annoying. Should stop hanging out with the strikeout machine Stanton.
  12. If Ryan had Maddux-like control, he would have had a few Cy Youngs next to his name. His career ERA would have been even lower. Like, a 95-97 mph fastball in a great location where a hitter usually doesn't make good contact wouldn't even be fair.
  13. No but he's the first guy whose name comes up in my mind when the word "strikeout" is mentioned.
  14. Interesting...a lot of strikeouts and walks. This is like Nolan Ryan minus the ability to prevent runners scoring (for a lot of them). You're right, a lot of batters are striking out at a high rate these days. It's just guys going up there and trying to swing for the fences. As of right now, when it comes to offense, there are more strikeouts than hits this season. Too many Stantons (strikeout machines).
  15. Doing the little things matters a lot. Passed balls might not go as an error but it could be the difference between 5-7 wins a season.
  16. Nice game when it came to the little things by the Angels tonight against the Astros. A lot of stolen bases and good defense.
  17. Sure, I guess a .400 OBP is now considered a "bad" game. And add a stolen base (nice) to it.
  18. At least Trout picked up his second stolen base of the season...shouldn't waste his speed by just not trying to steal.
  19. It feels like all the MLB records that no player wants to have are from guys who were once Angels. Most strikeouts, Reggie Jackson, most walks allowed, Nolan Ryan, and most double plays, Pujols.
  20. It's going to be really hard for another hitter to move pass Pujols on all-time career leader for double plays grounded into. Miggy is like top-5 in that category but he's still like 55 double plays behind Pujols. And it's likely that Miggy doesn't play that much longer. Pujols would still had a career .300 batting average if he had some speed, Zodiac Killer speed.
  21. Aaron and Mays were taking steroids back before it was deemed illegal. Key words here are "before it was deemed illegal". No proof when it comes to Williams.
  22. I hope the Dodgirls continue to lose series after series. Can't stand their clueless fans.
