  1. I actually been watching Castillo quite a bit this season. He's not himself this season. From what I have seen with him, it doesn't look like he's getting a lot of strikeouts on his slider, which is his pitch that he dominates batters when he is on his game. And he's been unlucky this season. A lot of hits that are not coming off the bat of the ball very hard. He's not done as a product. If he can develop another pitch, he'll turn into a perennial All-Star.
  2. Trout has to produce for this team to even have a chance at being relevant. The supporting cast needs to step the f up! You just can't rely on one guy to do so much. Good teams don't rely on one star to do everything.
  3. I thought the OP was just joking around by making this thread. I wish nothing but for the Dodgirls to never win the World Series ever again and the cheater Bauer gets blown up.
  4. Trout should just hit leadoff at this point. Not that he still can't be awesome in the third spot in the lineup but he's at his best when he's playing like a leadoff hitter to go along with his power. Trout leading off would just kick start the Angels' offense. A pitcher giving up a run or a couple in the first inning doesn't make him feel good at all. Need to give Trout as many chances to come to the plate as possible. Plus, the Angels have guys who can drive him in like Walsh and Rendon. His best season (2018) was him playing with that mindset. 24 stolen bases with 39 home runs.
  5. Right now, Trout is like the leading AL MVP candidate. Yup, once again, he's on the list with a .342/.463/.649 slash line. He's due to heat up at the plate again at some point so I could see an OPS around 1.200 in a couple of weeks. Another great candidate is Cole. He's the only starting pitcher on the Yankees that everyone trusts. Kluber has been inconsistent this season but he's coming along lately. Severino has been an All-Star a couple of times but still hasn't made his 2021 debut yet. Taillon, Montgomery, and German haven't put up solid numbers this season. Take Cole out and the Yankees might not be a .500 team right now. Having that star starting pitcher like Cole has its effect on the starting rotation and bullpen. More rest for the bullpen should mean a more effective bullpen. Right now, it's Trout or Cole as the MVP front runner in the American League with guys like John Means and Bogaerts in the hunt.
  6. Can't stand guys like the moron behind home plate in the Angels-Red Sox game tonight. Same with C.B. Buckner and his stupid strike zone. Trout's been a victim of his poor strike zone numerous times before.
  7. The league slash line overall for hitters this season is 234/.311/.390. So yeah, it's very easy for anyone to go through a hitting slump this season. The slash line tells it all.
  8. It's already hard for hitters to hit in this season. Expanded strike zones with the idiotic umpires behind home plate would even be more harder to hit...SMH.
  9. There are people who still thinks that Trout is a high ball hitter after all these years. He's a low ball hitter. Pitchers are afraid to throw Trout any low pitches, especially the low fastball. I think Trout might hit the low fastball better than the fastball in the middle of the plate.
  10. Trout is now batting under .200 this May...CHIT. So much for Trout loving to hit this month. I can't wait until this month is over.
  11. Of course, the guy who is wild looks like Maddux against the Angels. Only against the Angels.
  12. It feels like a lot of mediocre pitchers have been good this 1968-like season. Or 2014-like season.
  13. Rookie Trout would easily have beaten that out. 2012 Trout was fun to watch on both sides of the ball, especially on the bases.
  14. Never thought we would see the day where Trout is having a higher strikeout rate than strikeout machine Stanton after like 30 games. But here we are...
  15. We know Gubi, Trout's only weakness is the high fastball. If pitchers still don't know that by now, I don't know what to tell ya.
  16. Torii and Vlad should both be up there. Vlad's best years were with the Expos but he did win the MVP with the Angels. Great signings with Torii and Vlad when they were very productive for about their whole contracts. Colon was only good with the Angels for one season, which was his Cy Young season in 2005. Whether or not he should have won that Cy Young is another debate. He shouldn't but still was very good that season.
