  1. Just struck out. Hopefully, he's back to his normal self at the plate.
  2. He has a .300/.364/.600 slash line with them so far. If he has that same lash line or one that is better in another week or so, he should be tested for steroids.
  3. Reddick is going to make his 2021 regular season debut at Dodger Stadium. Hopefully, the fans of a particular LA team don't take it too seriously and act like the Zodiac Killer. Doubt they are smart enough to get away with a crime.
  4. There's always going to be a few idiots out there who thinks that the Angels are "better" without Trout. Without Trout in 162-game seasons since 2012, the Angels went 8-15 in 2012, 2-3 in 2013, 2-3 in 2014, 1-2 in 2015, 1-2 in 2016, 23-25 in 2017, 11-11 in 2018, and 11-17 in 2019. Obviously, the person who made this thread never said that the Angels are better than Trout but some valid points were made. The Angels do have a good offense even without Trout, which is why Trout should be the leadoff hitter when he comes back. Hell, he should have been the leadoff guy like a few weeks ago. For sure, they have a few guys who are capable of driving in runs.
  5. 2-2 count on Fletcher results in a base hit on a high fastball. Should have tried a low fastball or an offspeed pitch in the bottom of the strike zone. Still don't know the scouting reports on him, SMH.
  6. At this point, I'm expecting a lot more no-hitters this regular season. The overall slash line for hitters this season has been bad up to this point, especially the batting average department. This season might not be as hard as 1968 for hitters but it just feels like it's close to it. Trout would have batted .350 in the regular season a few times during the inflated offensive era that is known as the "steroids era".
  7. Pujols sucks. Watching the guy with the Angels was like watching Kobe during his last few seasons with the Lakers. Kobe basically torpedoed his career shooting percentage and win shares per 48 minutes. The Same can be said about Pujols and his batting average and OBP. Big difference was that Kobe helped the Lakers win 5 titles, two as the first option with Gasol being the second option. Pujols didn't win anything for the Angels. No World Series and performed terribly. Good riddance. He shouldn't be welcomed back to Anaheim if he steps his foot back in the city.
  8. Turnbull is no-hitting the Mariners. Has a no-hitter after eight innings. Another game where there's a no-hitter this late in a game this season. 2021, another 1968 or 2014. Bring back the juice baseballs!
  9. Angels couldn't do the little things right once again. Bad defense early on cost them this game.
  10. The C.B. Buckner strike zone in tonight's game. Or the Maddux strike zone where pitches that are just outside the strike zones are called strikes.
  11. I fucking hate when Trout is on the IL, formerly the DL. We’ve been robbed of Trout having to play a 162-game season in 2020. I don’t care if he gets the all-time home run record of 762 home runs by Bonds but I would love to see Trout get to at least 700 or close to that. And now with all of these damn injuries the last few seasons that he’s had to endured. I wouldn’t say that he has no chance of finishing in the top-5 in the AL MVP this season. He did ended up fourth in the voting in 2017 despite missing 48 games that season.
  12. Not counting 2011, here are the Angels season-by-season records without Trout in 162-game seasons (2012-2019): 2012: 8-15 2013: 2-3 2014: 2-3 2015: 1-2 2016: 1-2 2017: 23-25 2018: 11-11 2019: 11-17 I don't include 2011 because Trout wasn't Trout yet. From looking at the records for the Angels when Trout doesn't play, it's not good. That includes 2017, when Young Jr. stepped up in Trout's absence, but it only got them a 23-25 record without Trout.
  13. There goes his chances of being the MVP for the fourth time. He probably won catch Bonds and his 7 MVPs but being tied for the second most MVPs, at worst, isn't so bad. And his chances at setting the all-time strikeout record has dropped, so that's good. It would be kind of odd if some kid ask his parents one day, "Mon, dad, I know Trout was an excellent two-way player for awhile but how do you explain him having the most strikeouts ever by a hitter in MLB history?"
  14. Trout has become injury prone the last few seasons. Beetch, beetch, beetch! Of course, it's the Angels way for Trout to be out for this many weeks when the injury doesn't even look serious. God, I hate injuries, especially when it comes to Trout's.
  15. Ohtani being more patient at the plate is a great thing. Going to make the offense even more dangerous.
  16. The Pujols contract was a waste. It didn't lead the Angels to a single World Series. And he had a lot of horrible seasons at the plate with the team. His only really good year with the club was his debut season in 2012. A lot of Angels fans should be happy that he's gone. Just another horrible contract like the one that they handed to Hamilton and Wilson. Pujols defenders will point out his high RBI totals. Well, he had guys who could get on base at the top of the order like Trout and Escobar (2016).
  17. Trout's not the first player to win the MVP on a team below .500. Other cases would be A-Rod in 2003 with the Rangers, Ripken Jr. with the Orioles in 1991, and Banks with the Cubs for a couple of seasons. I still have to say that the MVP should be considered an award for the best player in each league. It's hard to penalize anyone who has a great season on a bad team because of how much impact he can make for each game. It's not like the NBA where a superstar can have a lot of impact on an outcome of a game. It's interesting to know that Kareem won the MVP award on a non-playoff team. That, to me, was not the right pick.
  18. If Pujols hangs out with the cheater Bauer, I expect a resurgence from him with the Dodgirls. Hopefully not.
  19. I'm going to think the high fastball has been a big reason for Trout's struggles of late. He's always been an excellent low fastball hitter. Like I rarely see him swing and miss at a fastball in the lower part of the strike zone. Pitchers are scared to throw him those low fastballs in the lower part of the strike zone. He's usually has had his struggles against the high fastball. If you watch Trout hit and he's down in the strike zone with an 0-1, 1-2, or 0-2 count, look where the catcher is setting up most of the time. He's usually going to put his glove high in the strike zone that indicate that a high fastball is coming against Trout. The book has been out on Trout since 2014. If they still don't know it, they're clueless.
  20. Clutch hit today against a reliever who was having a dominant start to his season that led to Ohtani's big home run. Only idiots would say that Trout isn't clutch and would point to his 2014 postseason numbers. 3 games, who cares. Anyone can have a bad stretch of three games. What's Trout's career numbers in high leverage situations anyways?
  21. That poster had to put a jinx on Trout before this month by saying that Trout loves to hit in the month of May. If you're looking at the overall slash line for hitters this regular season, it's something like .235/.310/.390. Trout's sash line this season is still awesome and looks more impressive when you look at the fact that it's been very hard to hit this season across the league.
  22. This feels like Trout is having a very bad season at the plate. Oh wait, he's not, Still has an incredible slash line as a hitter this season...in a year that resembles 1968 or 2014.
