Including me.  Get a Groupon for tire rotation for them.

Depth means nothing if everyone sucks.
Just means you will for sure have a body in there that sucks.

If a team can get good production from the corner outfielders and corner infielders and DH, the team will likely be good offensively.  The others can just play D.
That's five spots for productive bats.  As we speak right now, the Angels are arguably 0 for 5 at those spots.
    That's gross.

And to think how elevated and dangerous an offense can be if you have excellent bats at shortstop and centerfield. . .
This roster is so, so weird.

I love Simmons and would prefer he be at the core of this team for a long time.
They just have so few resources to trade to restock.  Because of that I would reluctantly listen.

Take a good hard look at all the names that don't start with the letter "T" in that lineup.
    It's not bad luck.

    Four things to do:
    Trade Escobar
    Trade Cron
    Trade Calhoun
    Trade Nolasco
Do I have to stop at 4?

Tropeano really hasn't been part of the rotation in my view ... he's a prospect who may not make the rotation when healthy.

Of course if Richards, Heaney, Skaggs, Shoemaker, and the rest would all be healthy. . .then the team needs no pitching.

Well, I was citing a problem and I guess you agree?
I originally mentioned that the Angels did not have one good bet to log 180 decent innings.
Yes, there might be about 10 guys in the AL that end up with 200 innings.  I think it was 9 or 10 last year.
Spread across the league that would mean 2/3 of teams would have one.
Since the Angels are supposed to be a premium franchise in a big market, I would kinda expect the Angels would be in the 2/3 of teams that have someone like that.
Since they don't, I believe the GM should probably be fairly focused on getting a body that provides stability.
I think there is a HUGE vacancy at the top of the rotation, and I am willing to be a broken record on that point when I see people talking about having depth or lots of starting pitching for 2018.

Can we look at it this way?
The Angels have literally nothing they can count on above tier three.
Is there even one guy you would actually bet real money that they will pitch over 180 innings and have an ERA under 4?
This team so badly needs a horse.

Maybe as long as you feel like you can count on them.
The Angels have almost nobody they can count on.

I want an "ace" too. . .but I would settle for a proven 180 inning type that doesnt stink.  Somebody who was not an obvious injury risk.
Any pitcher can go down, sure.  But for planning purposes it might be nice to have a guy most would bet will make 32 starts and not stink.

In a position to hope for health?
That soinds like wordsmithing to avoid admitting a problem.
    It's a problem.
Sure things could all break the Angels way and all these guys could perform.
But sometimes it is fine to just view reality and not "hope". . .since hope is not a plan.
My point is more about just trying to land a healthy 200 inning guy that is not a hack #5 starter with a 5 era.
If Eppler rolled into 2018 without making a move to better secure some rotation stability, I would view that as a failure to address an obvious problem.

Even if you only consider Trout's window, one additional year of control on Cowart has value.  Consider his trade value.

I don't "give up" on these two players.  But it is wise to mentally move these guys to another category in planning a winning roster.
I do "give up" relying on them in any way for the plan.
