I have no ill will toward Ohtani.  He is a class act and a special player.
I can’t root for him personally at the same level as I did with him in an Angel uniform, but I will still root for him personally.
But, I can’t root for the Dodgers to win.  So my wish is Ohtani is great and the Dodgers find a way to not win.
That’s the best I can hope for.

Angels fans have 0 reason to be upset with Ohtani. The dude simply wants to play on a winning team. Does it suck that he left? Hell yes it does. 
The only person to blame is the owner for not having a talented enough organization to compete and make him want to stay. 

Please sign Yamamoto now.  The team needs a top starter and he is 25.  Fits win now mode and fits long term improvement as well.
This is one of the long term contract that (other than same risk of injury of any deal) makes more sense than most.

We need to have some thick skin this offseason and take all the Angels/Arte hit pieces that will surely come.  Some will be deserved.

A lot of us here who are Angels fans lived through the 1980's and 90's, some years where our best player was Luis Polonia. We got young hungry guys and Trout who I think will have a chip on his shoulder. I would have loved to have had Shohei back but this isn't the end of the world. I remember the years where they didn't even try to field a competitive team.

Japs just need to bribe them with Sapporo.  All good. 

There's having an emotional attachment and there's being completely irrational and overreacting.  Again, why would anyone actually be mad at Ohtani for this?  Emotional attachment or not, what rational human being would expect him to turn down a deal like that and "stay loyal" (or whatever you want to call it) to the Angels?  Be mad at Arte for not giving him the deal.  That would still be wildly irrational, but maybe somewhat more understandable.

Honestly, though, how can anyone actually be mad at Ohtani for signing this deal?
