I hope Trout's production doesn't take a nosedive like Jimmie Foxx did at age 34. His numbers fell off a cliff and he was done. He returned for a few games after a year's break and was awful. Just like that, finished. I can't imagine Trout being an offensive force after age 35 and that's just a couple years from now. With all the injuries, etc.

On a positive note, if the doctors can repair his knee and he DH's going forward, perhaps my gloomy outlook will prove premature and he'll do well until age 38.

A lot has changed in 82 years.

That is certainly a possibility.  It's just odd to me that some folks seem to think that every team would just randomly decide not to sign him for no particular reason.  Either they have more info than is publicly available, they just don't want the hassle that might come from signing him, or both--and in any of those three cases, it's perfectly fine if teams don't want to sign him.

    cancel culture is real.

Yes, actually.  As I've said numerous times, it's entirely possible that they have information about women from several locations/jurisdictions and that no individual incident reaches a threshold for a local prosecutor to want to formally press charges.  But maybe the totality of the information they have is enough to scare off teams from signing him.  Why is that so hard to believe?

Yeah, and that information may not me reliable.  See the very recent example from AZ
