  1. Same -- my backup PC is a early series i7 2600 albeit with 24 RAM, but it's run Win10 flawlessly. Hated 8, loved 7.. Been really happy with 10. But like Vegas mentioned, I've always had a program that auto-updated my drivers.
  2. Waiting patiently for someone to suggest Maddon is a genius for calling for a suicide bunt... because our manager wouldn't ever do that.... That was VERY fun game to watch.
  3. Two weeks? See you at the ASB, 2018 (obligatory)
  4. As moronic as thinking that anything other than completely gutting the team means they think they are a playoff contender? Funny to see people bitching about Stoneman and trades again... If only he had not stepped down when he did this team wouldn't be in this mess. But you guys got your Trader Jack GM and man did he makes us better.. Morons didn't know how good they had it. HR hitters and trades -- that's the heat.
  5. You must have been a lot of fun to be around on Exposwin.com around 1994 and 1995.
  6. They also didn't want any part of dealing with the potential backlash of playing a guy who got suspended for assaulting a woman... Olivera basically got a retirement contact at hello.. 62 mil guaranteed with ZERO track record. At least guys like Hamilton put in the wrench time before getting paid to not play.
  7. Well, mostly I think it's nice the guys they drafted actually got the job done .... for a change..
  8. He also backed himself up by picking up 292 other guys who could play LF just in casies.. Good thing too since Gentry/Nava proved to be made of glass... In other news -- the team's OPS+ is 104.
  9. They weren't pitched to death prior to age 25. Neither RJ nor Ryan topped 200 IP in a season until age 26 and 25 respectively. There is something to letting a guy mature physically before Terry Collins-ing them.
  10. Yeah, I don't know if velocity is as big an issue as pitch types and usage... There has been a decided upswing in injuries since they lowered the mound and pitchers started throwing sliders (the pitch didnt exist til then), and anything/everything else that created downforce or helped induce ground balls. Another thing.. medical science has reached the point where more and more guys can have their careers saved. In the olden day, you hurt your arm -- you were done. People like to talk about how much more guys used to throw, but as a whole they also saw their effectiveness end sooner and their careers shortened. Lots of myths associated with pitchers from different eras -- as whole guys have longer careers now than in the past.
  11. Soft, dirt covered balls and some parks that had fences 450 feet away.
  12. They promote him to Burlington, that team will have what... seven... 2016 draft position players??
  13. If they could get him for Smith ... I'd be sky high.. I saw that kid pitch in West Palm Beach a couple years ago, maybe three.. HS showcase type game and he made people look stupid...
  14. Barring some huge injury post tradeline and before next season it's unlikely he sees his value get any higher than it currently is -- but trading him for sake of getting something wouldn't be all that different than overpaying for David Freese a few years back. It's going to suck because we may not see him be more attractive to others than he is right now, but if the best you can do is a Grant Green...... well.... we are better off keeping him. It may be one of those situations where his value to us even if it's as finite as it is, is greater than what we would be able to obtain via trade.
  15. It's gonna suck but they just don't seem to be well aligned to make something big happen.
  16. Yep..... My sentiments exactly on both fronts -- the Giles trade was a franchise maker.
  17. Bradford DoolittleESPN Staff Writer The Mariners finally get a well-pitched inning -- from infielder Luis Sardinas, who moved over from first and got the Cubs in order in the eighth. Chicago leads 12-0. That may be one of the douchiest sentences every written but I LOLed...
  18. Peter Gammons ‏@pgammo 1h1 hour ago Angels have had the most hits on Cam Bedrosian. Sorry, no, future closer
  19. Ill bite... what exactly is the reasoning behind spending long term assets for a short term "solution".. The Angels offense sits at 104 OPS+ btw....
  20. How much do you think we need to pay them to take him? LOL.. God I hate that dude...
  21. Robert... Thanks for all of these -- you are to the MLB stuff what John is to the minor league stuff... This board is a much better place because of the work you put into your submissions and the discussion it starts Tank should totally take you to lunch IMO...
