When you trade away all your prospects for rentals you end up with a thin to worst system in the game.

Winning 2 out 3 from the A's is fine when you're only trailing them by 2 or 3 games. Not 10 or 11. That's the price they're paying for screwing around in April and May.

Iannetta 5 errors ranks below only 2 other catchers. CS% worst in the majors. CERA 15th th in the majors. 13th in PB.  And we have 2 more years of this crap. And a .210 BA. Oh, and he can draw a walk.  Man, I guess that makes him a starting catcher.

why do they insist that Williams is a sinker ball pitcher. I have watched him pitch all season and he is continually up in the zone. His sinker ball doesn't work. He is a junk ball pitcher.

I would prefer to see Trumbo hit a few less home runs and get his Ba up and his K down. He would be a more productive offensive player if he changed his approach.

He will every now and then show spurts of greatness but not often enough to be noticeable. I laugh every time he stands at the plate and stares at his solo home runs like he'd just accomplished something amazing before he begins hobbling around the base paths. Albert is all about his 500th homer.  

It's amazing what people are now willing to accept from Albert Pujols. Two years ago he was expected to take the Angels to another level and carry them to a championship. Today .280 with some pop is acceptable and laughable. If we just needed .280 with some pop we should have just kept Kendrys Morales.    

They can hope to hell and high water. Hope doesn't drive in runs and put homerun balls into the outfield bleachers. I can't count how many times the switch has turned on for Pujols, just to find that it had a short circuit. Not criticizing your writing, you write very well, and I enjoy your articles. However, we have been hearing from Albert all about the various excuses as to why he is not living up to his responsibilities and pay grade.

Because 4 years ago Hawpe was a .900 OPS player and the Angels cannot resist a player that was a slugger 4 years previous. Calhoun is a .900 OPS player now, we have to wait until he falls off the map or is out of baseball for 1 to 2 years (like Hawpe and Harris) before the Angels are interested.

Trading Trumbo not only opens up the door for Calhoun, but Cron as well. Especially at the DH/1B spot.

Me either, then again, the person with the field manager's title makes these decisions. Calhoun is forgetting, by evidence of his SLC OPS, that he needs to add a big dose of productive outs and baserunning blunders to warrant a call up,

Not trying to start anything here, but how do you figure he's putting up the best numbers of his career?  His ERA is above his career average,  WHIP is basically at his career average, and WAR is only 0.1.

Thankfully we have a strong farm that will provide an influx of cheap talent to fill the holes and balance things out over the coming years.

One year I hope that their "sense of urgency" strikes a little before mid-July.
