  1. I know we've been winning with him starting, but I'd like to know if you think this action is wise especially considering he only pitches about 3 innings. I also think it's an unnecessary depletion of bullpen use. With the big lead we have I know we can afford to use them like this, but are you telling me we can't find a legitimate starter? Moreover, with the expansion of the roster, wouldn't this be a good time to find someone who may be help us next season?
  2. On the contrary QM, the last word is Scioscia has no idea how bad this injury is. They've given him cortisone shots and it's not getting better.
  3. Hopefully, the hamstring problem is minor.
  4. That's a bit how I see it. Sooner or later, probably later in the playoffs, we're going to need a big hit. At this point, it looks like we can skate through the regular season. My faith in how well Cowgill and others face All-Star pitching in the playoffs is not very strong.
  5. Maybe in the short run, but we've seen small tidbits of his old self. I still think he could be very good for us.
  6. If we're hitting like this without him, could you imagine if he joined the party? I also think we're going to need him down the road so I hope this injury doesn't turn out to be disastrous. I mean, we've already gone that route with Richards and Skaggs. I think an MRI is imminent and I hope it doesn't show anything bad for the long run.
  7. That tells you how awesome Calhoun has been. There really hasn't been a standout offensive guy.
  8. He wasn't going to do anything with that pitch he struck out on. I keep thinking of A League of their Own. "Lay off the high ones!" I wonder if it's a confidence issue with him.
  9. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2152699-mlb-players-how-to-guide-to-dealing-with-an-out-of-control-heckler?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=los-angeles-angels#articles/2152699-mlb-players-how-to-guide-to-dealing-with-an-out-of-control-heckler That last story is a riot!
  10. On Tuesday, Angels P Kevin Jepsen set the team record with 58 consecutive appearances without a "win", "loss" or "save" (streak started last season) (old: J.C. Romero, 2006, 57). (Angels team notes) If Jepsen makes it through the season without a "win", "loss" or "save", he will set the major league record for most games in a season without any of them. 11. Yet during that tenure we went to the postseason during any other time. I think many people just see the Wells deal and that's it. If you look at the entirety of his tenure, he was a good GM. What exactly makes him bad?
  12. If our guys are healthy, I still have a lot more faith in us coming out on top.
  13. My gut reaction is that this is good for the Halos, unless the A's know something about Cespedes that others don't. Their offense was questionable with him and I'd rather they have Lester and a shaky Gomes than a guy who hits 30 homers.
  14. Based on his past record, I thought the trade was good. I didn't think he would drop off the face of the earth. The last season with Toronto he was still productive and he was still relatively young.
  15. I mean the face of the deal. I had no problem with it.
  16. I still maintain he was pretty good. I thought the Wells deal was good, but it didn't work out. Same for Kazmir.

  18. You know Ausmus gave them hell about it. There wasn't even a throw. That's how far away they were from getting him out.
