  1. And Freese's injury, and Iannetta being Iannetta and Disarcina coaching 3rd base.. All issues that have been fixed.
  2. That can't be the rotation if Santiago is moved. Who do you think the 5th starter will be after the ASB?
  3. With a 3 year mutual option. These are totally legit offers and these guys have to know that playing with Trout, Pujols, Simmons, Calhoun, Richards, et al. is going all in.
  4. I wonder what Eppler does everyday when he goes into the office. It's the 13th, let's say he went back to work on the 4th after the holidays. Has he just stared at Twitter and AW.com for 9 days in a row waiting for the FA's to sign somewhere like we have?
  5. Rox have to trade someone, why isn't Cargo an option for us? Tropeano for Cargo for two years?
  6. And we are paying Hamilton about the same money to play for a different team after he contributed exactly nothing to the Angels. Pujols has been professional, he has contributed, according to Dino Ebel he's the most focused player on the team and he has been an excellent role model for Mike Trout. Age sucks, but he's not the abject failure that Hamilton is.
  7. The market for Upton and Cespedes is setting up nicely for 3-4 year deal around $18-19M per. 4/72, do it!
  8. Seems like good news to me, 5/95 for Cespedes or 6/114 for Upton with an opt out after three years for both? Do it!
  9. Simers and Plaschke are the reason I moved from So Cal. Sorta..
  10. Sorry Notti. It's just so goddamn slow waiting for Cespedes or Upton to sign with us, Chen to sign with us and Gia to get his Gold Glove award.
  11. Pretty sure we traded Pau for his brother with Jerry West's team, the Griz. Drafting Bynum wasn't exactly universally praised, he had about 1 1/2 ok years. Clarkson's pretty nice for a 2nd rounder.
  12. And Lamar was part of the trade too. He was 6th man of the year that year. He basically played the 4 to Pau's 5 in the 3rd and 4th quarters and they were unbeatable in those quarters. I don't buy that Mitch is a great GM, nothing good happened without Jerry West's help regardless of which team he was working for. The Nash acquisition was terrible. The coach hiring decisions have been Hamiltonian in their ****ed-up-tedness. "The proposed trade would have sent Paul to the Lakers, Pau Gasol to the Rockets and furnished New Orleans with three top-flight NBA players in Kevin Martin, Luis Scola and Lamar Odom as well as playoff-tested guard Goran Dragic and a 2012 first-round pick that Houston had acquired from the Knicks." Does anyone think that was an unfair trade in hindsight??
  13. Bullsh*t.. It's not too difficult to sort columns one by one and see who is constantly just above or below Gia. Kendrick, Zobrist.. Oh and the tdong thing must have been a typo. Must have been.
  14. Griffey Bagwell Piazza Hoffman Edgar Martinez edit: The M's stadium is on Edgar Martinez Blvd. That has to count for extra credit!
  15. That single David Stern/Dan Gilbert nullification of a completely legitimate trade destroyed Lamar Odom. Pau Gasol is way too smart and professional to not play well after but it hurt him deeply. Jim Buss and Mitch Kupchak are the reason the team is so bad of course but that deal was more f*cked up than any professional league decision I have ever seen in any sport. (Tangent off..)
  16. And Iannetta , for some reason, gets a pass despite the fact that we should have been using our pitchers as DH's instead of having him in the lineup.
  17. SS is the most demanding defensive position and he's the best in the game right now by far.
  18. It seems Hamilton was to the Angels what the Chris Paul trade debacle was to the Lakers and Derek Fisher was to the Lakers what Gia is to the Angels. I think we are in a much better position than the Lakers are by about a million miles. And believe me, I love the Lakers.
  19. Just curious, has anyone done the math to see how much a World Series appearance or even deep playoff run adds to the bottom line? For example, if Upton and Chen were added this year and Wilson and Weaver come off the books next year would a deep playoff appearance pay the tax and get us into next year with a pretty solid team going forward?
