  1. $38M/yr for the next 4 years. And Arte's keeping the team.
  2. Rendon w/LAA since 2020-23(4year totals): $130M pocketed, .252 BA, 20HR, 102RBI. "Pujols Part Deux"
  3. We need a Starting Rotation. Short of a big spend, we're losing Ohtani after next year. Prolly need 1-2 frontline starters to be sure.
  4. Real Estate Deal fell thru and he's approaching 80. Prolly two accelerating factors
  5. Given how Maddon, Ausmus, and Scioscia have been handled over the last few years. I think it'll be a challenge to get a quality candidate. Someone new will want the experience. Someone out of the game awhile will take any oppo to get back in. I've become more convinced that any Managerial Candidate with experience knows exactly what they're dealing with when they take the job. And the lifespan of that job. Will they contend, etc. And so their demeanor reflects that.
  6. Is the ringworm reasoning incorrect due to mispelling? Someone pointed out the steroid in question: https://twitter.com/Hareeb_alSaq/status/1558243253962641409 "Ok, so, there is a medicine that treats ringworm that contains CLOBETASOL. Clobetasol is a cortico-(not anabolic) steroid. https://netdoctor.co.uk/medicines/skin-hair/a6540/clobetasol-neomycin-and-nystatin-cream-ointment/ Tatis got busted for CLOSTEBOL, an anabolic steroid. Looks like somebody screwed up their googling coming up with that excuse."
  7. Everyone here is expressing deep concerns about Management of the ballclub. With many of his best years behind him, should Trout be -or- have been more outspoken about Management? Is lack of a vocal leader hurting the potential of the Angels? Is silence accepting their fate ok vs "We should get pitching / Very concerned about the direction of the team/so on"?
  8. Everyone here understands the hows and whys. There's no magic behind what needs to happen with the organization.
  9. Either make it to the Series or go ahead and lose 100. .500 records are of little benefit
  10. I have no doubt Maddon knew exactly what he was walking into when he agreed to Manage the Angels. It was a nice short-term payday with a team that has organizational issues. He knew the team, roster, and farm system were challenged. Few moves were made to help that. Basically clearing dead money off the payroll over the last couple years. Plus he has ties to Scioscia and obviously knew what happened to him.
  11. Angels woes extend beyond Mike Trout. One player can only do so much. Maybe an injury? Perhaps.
  12. Its a long season, but there were hints of where this team stood even before it started. Items not addressed and continue to not be addressed. Certain teams just have playoff talent levels which exceed the Angels. Until some of the underperforming areas are addressed, it will continue to be a .500 ballclub with a large payroll.
