it's the internet, you're posting on a message board. Why do you need to make a grand announcement? Just click to some other website and you're gone

Guys (and gals), it's pretty simple.

If you don't like it here...leave. Seriously...leave. Don't need to make a big dramatic announcement...no need to schedule a press conference and send out a press release...just delete the bookmark and don't come back. Nobody is going to miss you.

This look at me, I want attention bs...this mods are against me crap...you aren't the first ones who have whined about it...you won't be the last. There are plenty of people who have differing opinions on this site. There are plenty of mods who have differing opinions. If you feel picked on it's probably because you weren't loved as a child and have low self esteem...or you deserve it for starting threads like this. Nobody is out to get you...nobody is picking on you...nobody cares. If you stick around for a few months than great...if you don't...who gives a shit.

What up Angel fans? Glad I stumbled upon this forum - it's loads better than the bitch & whine sesh at the angelsbaseball.com forums.

I've been a fan since 1995 - a couple of years after my family moved to Orange County from London. I tried to like the Padres during my years at UC San Diego, but it's like watching a lineup full of John McDonald's. I go to Chapman now and try to make it to as many games as possible.

Hello, I'm kind of new here.  I made an account last season and would post rarely, but I forgot my password and didn't really like the fact that I had used my actual name as my username so thought I'd just start a new account.  Since I'm starting new, may as well reintroduce myself as I'm sure nobody would have remembered me anyways.

My name is J.B..  I've been an Angels fan for 27 years or as long as I can remember.  I was born at St. Joe's and grew up in Orange 10 minutes from the big A.  I went to my first game in 1986 when I was two weeks old to the last game they won in the ALCS against Boston.  I have gone to games every year since then.  I live in Pacifica now (about 10 minutes south of San Francisco).  This is the first year I probably won't be able to see a game at Anaheim stadium because I've been too busy, but was able to go see Weaver get annihilated by the A's a couple weeks ago in Oakland.

I said that those were his numbers for over a month now. Those stats are from May 16 until present and I got them from baseball reference. Just go to the game logs and highlight any span of games and it show the stats.

My point is that he is a career .664 hitter and that's what he has been hitting since May 16. He had a hot streak to start the season which inflated his season numbers and the Angels rode it but now he is back to his old self and there is no reason to believe he will start hitting .321/ .421/ .444/ .865 as he did his first 97 PA's. So it's time to let it go and use him as he should be used, a 4th OF, ocassional start and defensive replacement

According to baseball reference, he is hitting .270/.289/.432/.722 over the last 28 days...Not great, but just thought I would clarify.  I think they should stick with what is working for now.  Eventually Kole should be getting more ABs because he will only get better against lefties if he is given the chance (plus the sample size is quite small right now).  But with the starting pitching struggling and the offense rolling, why change a good thing?

Now this is some solid logic.

If Calhoun's feelings are hurt, he's a better player.  If his feelings aren't hurt, he's not.

it's the only argument that makes sense? I mean, other than the fact that you have 0 evidence to prove it. Oh and the fact that Calhoun is a much better player. Has that even crossed your mind once?

We have the 2nd best record in baseball despite Ibanez getting regular at bats longer than he should have, Pujols batting 3rd longer than he should have, and Frieri closing longer than he should have. The team is winning in spite of poor decisions. This does not absolve those decisions or automatically mean they are "good". That's just a silly argument.

It's funny, if Calhoun WAS struggling you would say that is good reason for Cowgill to platoon. Calhoun isn't struggling because he is a great player and deserves to be in the lineup most nights. It's pretty self explanatory.

Well, he's batting .228 in his last 5 games, while Kole is batting .471 in his, so there's that sample size.

That's the only reason that needs to be given! Are you insane? Kole is the better player and gives the team the best possible lineup every night he is there. It's really that simple. And yes, that is a much better reason than one that you literally pulled out of your ass and have 0 evidence for.

Also I literally just wrote a short article on why I was FINE with Cowgill getting starts. So I'm not sure why you think that because I think your argument is stupid that I think it's foolish to platoon. You even used the word "foolish" in quotation marks like I actually said that. Your argument is stupid because it literally has no evidence based on anything but something you have pulled out of thin air. I have no problem with Cowgill getting starts, but I know why people don't like it. It's really not that difficult to figure out.

AngelsFanSince86 got a reaction from Lou in A's Acquire Samardzija and Hammel
I'm not convinced this will make a huge difference. The potential is there and if anyone is going to bring it out the A's are it, but neither Samardzija or Hammel have been that impressive outside of this year.  The good year they are both having can change quickly though when switching leagues.  Both guys are going to have to face consistently deeper lineups then they had to in the NL.  I feel that Hammel will come back down to earth.  Not really sure about Samardzija, just not sure he is all he has been cracked up to be.  We will see though.  Either way, the A's trading away young top tier talent is always a good thing.  Especially considering they are able to get great production out of young, cheap arms.  If these two guys don't at least continue the production they have had for the rest of the year I think this will go down as a bad trade for the A's.  Just my two cents.

AngelsFanSince86 got a reaction from Vegas Halo Fan in Angels interest in Samardzija?
He has upside considering his arm hasn't seen that many innings (this is actually his third year starting, not fourth).  But that is about all he has. His career starting stats include a 4.03 ERA and 1.299 WHIP on an NL team .  Every year until about June he is the top 10 or so in the league with his stats, but around now he starts to fall apart and by the end of the season his overall numbers would put him as a very solid #4/#5 guy.  Notice that this month in three starts he has a 6.55 ERA.  He is definitely not the guy teams want to get half way through a season because history has shown they will be getting his worst performance.  He throws a lot of strikes and is a 200 inning guy.  Sounds like a younger Blanton.

I've heard this guys name over the years with some strong praises, but never really looked at his numbers and just assumed he was one of the better pitchers in the league based on what I had heard and the fact I've seen his name the past couple years on the stat leaders list.  Not at all what I expected though and not really sure what all the hype was about.  I would be very surprised if anyone besides the Cubs sign him for the money he wants.  Nobody is going to trade young club-controlled guys for a pitcher that has a history of sucking in the second half.
