Frieri Meatball reacted to Make Angels Great Again in Is Scioscia all there?
His decisions have simply become ridiculous. The players HAVE to be questioning him amongst themselves.
And it sounds like he's just scrambling for something to say here. Why doesn't someone ask him why he didn't use Morin? Hell he'd probably just give a non answer anyways like "We didn't feel comfortable using him there."

Frieri Meatball got a reaction from Angel Oracle in Is Scioscia all there?
Scioscia is a ****ing idiot. He will use some excuse like he wanted to save Morin in case the game was tied. I can't stand this guy he needs to go!

Thanks. I needed to clean my keyboard, but wasn't planning on using nasal sprayed IPA.

Frieri Meatball reacted to rafibomb in Scioscia jokes that Ibanez in lineup 'doesn't make sense'
Wait, let's think about this. What if he does indeed "turn it around"?
Just kidding.

Rick Sutcliff:
This team's season rests on Josh Hamilton, and..
"If Hamilton was batting behind Trout, this Angel's team would be in 1st place right now"
"Pujols didn't hit with men on last season, and with RISP this season, he is hitting around .150"
Thanks Rick. Go down to the clubhouse and chat with Scioscia about that.

Frieri Meatball reacted to tdawg87 in ESPN's Schoenfield: Trout the best player in baseball
It's not jealousy. They're Tigers fans. It's mental retardation.
Worst fanbase in sports. Yes, even worse than Boston or LA.

Frieri Meatball reacted to AngelsFaninGA in ESPN's Schoenfield: Trout the best player in baseball
I've developed a really strong hatred for Detroit fans since Trout began competing for MVP's. Those people are a bunch of knuckledragging neanderthals who genuinely think Trout is a glorified Denard Span.

Frieri Meatball reacted to Everling in Scioscia re: Cron's roster spot. I can't stop laughing.
Mike has always done stupid things like this. Even during glorious 2002, he platooned Adam Kennedy with talentless Benjy Gil.

Frieri Meatball reacted to Ludwig Von Mises in Scioscia re: Cron's roster spot. I can't stop laughing.
And Conger has a career .393 OBP against lefty pitching, but almost never plays against them.
And Calhoun has a career line .287/.326/.425 against lefties but still gets routinely benched against them.
Platooning is fine. I like it when managers use the platoon to press an advantage. Scioscia uses it to press a disadvantage.

Time to stop platooning Calhoun. He's starting to put it together and showed throughout his minor league career(and last season in his MLB stint) that he can hit lefties just fine
Cowgill should get a start once a week or so, but the strict platoon should end

I'm serious when I say this: I would lick Mike Trout's anus if he asked me.

Frieri Meatball reacted to disarcina in Remembering Tony Gwynn
Great story, Dave.
On the chewing tobacco aspect of this -- I think every story, every post needs to add that Tony Gwynn did shrink from this issue at all -- in fact, he blamed himself for not being able to kick that habit and even when his doctors told him, that his tobacco habit did not cause his cancer, he insisted that it did and used himself as an example to urge others to quit (or not start) the habit.
you know, there's probably someone out there who doesn't like Tony Gwynn (well, opposing pitchers didn't like him when he was at the plate) but you'd have to search long and hard to find such a person.
What a great ballplayer, what a great human being and what a life !! He made millions from baseball and probably could have made even more through the free agent market he never tested -- but the much beloved by everyone, and it seems like EVERYONE Tony Gwynn was very rich indeed.......Rich in genuine goodness that is so seldom seen in individuals, let alone a major sports superstar.
And the best part of this - if there can be a best part on a day like this -- is that the universal love of Tony Gwynn by so many was so widely expressed over the years its not just something being said on a day like this........
can't say enough good things about the late Tony Gwynn...........

Tony Gwynn was a ‘father figure’ for Stephen Strasburg
Great story about the bond of Gwynn and Strasburg.

This team is full of dumbasses. It all starts with the manager.

Scioscia has Trout anchored at first all season...but he will send a 62 year old...
F'n Brilliant.

Dinger to a .190 hitter. Seems like everyone with a sub .200 AVG shits on the Angels.

I don't care about his avg, Kendrick is never a good RBI guy, he shouldn't be anywhere near the middle of the lineup.

I have never, ever disliked an Angel more than Ernesto Frieri. Just looking at him makes me sick to my stomach.

Frieri Meatball reacted to bloodbrother in Aybar Appreciation Thread
He really deserves a spot as a reserve on the all-star team tbh. Hitting well, but most importantly the guy has been insane with the glove this year. He's looking better than he did the year he won his gold glove award.
I feel so dirty knowing that I had a woody for Wood back when we were having arguments on the board about which SS the team should be using, him or Aybar.
The guy is a damn good SS, and I can't get enough of the goofball. I was happy with the extension he got.
and of course...

The team looks fired up. Having to watch Frieri piss all over things must have motivated them. United in their disgust at Frieri
