I do not think you quite understand what ownership "risk" means.  Those were bad signings and on-the-field business decisions, but not risks of ownership.  You could even make the argument that the Pujols signing was a business success considering the additional TV revenue rights/contract, advertising, merchandise sales, brand building, etc. created by such.  On the field he was not a success to the team win/loss wise, but financial wise it's VERY debatable.  

It's both. The owners are trying to reduce player salaries because that is the significant source of their expenses. They are all making way more than they claim to be. They pay themselves millions in salary every year, hide revenue from the league in friendly television deals paid by stations they own, and bank ever increasing amounts of equity in their team. After that they show the players and the tax man a P&L two or three million in the red and cry poor.
The owners are at risk of seeing an actual decline in profit this year and, as billionaires, they are not used to that idea. MLB is a sure thing and the idea that there won't be huge profits this year, or that they could actual lose a little money is a non-starter for them.

it's like that idiot girl in central park who had her dog off the leash and a black guy told her to put her dog back on. she then screamed about him threatening her (he didn't) and called 911 saying he was trying to rape/attack her (he wasn't). her employer found out about it and ended up firing her.
it's a time when sensitivity is very heightened and there is a need for people to very careful about what they say and do.
and for crying out loud, stop putting everything you do on social media. it's just idiotic.

I met my brother for beers at a certain bar in Orange over the weekend. Place was packed both inside and out on the patio. Nobody wore a mask, there was no “Social distancing”, everyone was just having a good time. Guess what? I’m fine.

It must be very easy to live where the entire world is a victim to one individual.  Imagine how amazing it must be to live devoid of personal accountability.  Hell the murdering cop, he must feel like a million bucks because it is Trump’s fault.  The murdering thugs that killed cops in the aftermath, not their fault, just Trump’s fault.  
I have no idea if you have kids, but I would assume if your kids ever acted out and did anything bad in their life, from not turning in school work, to doing drugs, to theft, or cheating on their spouse, you took full blame, right, since you were in charge of them.  Or would that also be presidents fault.

this might be true in rhode island and wyoming, but from what i've seen on tv, it's not remotely true in LA, NY, or pretty much everywhere else. it's been overwhelming young people of color (not exclusively, but an absolute clear majority).

George Floyd getting all the press now but this was in the news a lot up until this. The two happening so close together just made things worse.

I have seen enough of this shit. We have a rally on Sunday. I’m probably going to go guard some stores. The gov isn’t going to defend the nation. We didn’t surrender to the British and I’ll be damn if I am going to surrender to a bunch of pillow biters or misguided black teens.
