  1. I wasn't arguing with you I was agreeing with you. It definitely would be better for baseball as a whole.
  2. That would have to be something collectively bargained for. With how it is now with no cap and people giving 10 plus year contracts I don't see the players giving that up. That being said It would be absolutely better for baseball if this happened. More player movement. A more even playing field. I would also argue a hard cap would be beneficial as well. But that is a discussion for another day.
  3. When other state and local governments are giving funding to provide these stadiums. The owners will always be asking for some sort of handout. If you don't have to pay for it all why would you. I imagine that is what they are thinking. Chargers basically got a free stadium out of leaving San Diego. Arte is trying to do the same thing with Anaheim or another city.
  4. Those renderings of the new stadium and what they would do with the old Oakland Coliseum area look incredible. Hopefully MLB approves it. Looking forward to see what will happen with the Angels and if/when they get a new stadium etc.
  5. Red Dead Redemption 2 is out it's understandable.
  6. Why does the career .300 average matter? You think it matters that much that he would throw away 59 million dollars? The guy is still a first ballot Hall of Famer with out question.
  7. No I disagree with that notion. We've already gone over that the payroll that Arte looks at is actual money not the avg salary. Trouts already at 35 million.
  8. No. There is zero incentive for Trout to sign before Machado and Harper. They will both set the market and he will go over the top.
  9. If he is waiting for Machado and Harper to sign. I imagine they won't be signing soon. They will be exhausting as many options and as much bidding as possible to drive up the prices. A lot of free agents and trades could happen before they both get deals finalized.
  10. I wanted Donaldson but for 23 mil when the Angels only have 30 to spend that's too much.
  11. Damn Donaldson is close to a 1 year deal with Atlanta. Edit 1 year 23 mil is a lot of money.
  12. Yes. This is my work sn. I understand you saying you think it is a dick move. And maybe he hasn't lived up to the hype that was set upon him at whatever age it was that Sports Illustrated made him the cover. But To say he hasn't lived up to it to some extent is wrong. The guy made the league at 19 years old, has won an MVP has gotten the Nationals to the playoffs a couple times. So far in his career his avg season is 279 388 512 900 OPS 32 home runs and 32 doubles. While sure that isn't Trout that is still incredible and has made him a top 5 player in baseball? And he is just 26 years old. I get that 300 million is a lot of money. I just don't get why he would sign the 300 million dollar deal now when free agency is about to start. He has waited all this time to be courted by 15 teams why not get to experience it and see if the bid goes up. If it does he wins if it doesn't and he has to "settle" for 300 million so be it. But to me there's no reason to accept that deal now, it actually makes me like him a little more than I do, because I know if I was in his shoes 300 million guaranteed would be hard to walk away from. But you have to give him credit he has a ton of confidence and he thinks, whether he is right or wrong, that he can get more. We will see if he is at the end of the day.
  13. The Angels need to be in on this guy. He is still young and an absolute stud at the plate.
  14. To the second point I care less and less the older I get. I still enjoy it but whether my favorite sports teams win or lose doesn't have some dramatic effect on my life. I was more at odds with your comment about him being a dick because he turned down a deal. I don't know why you think that makes him a dick? I guess that was my real problem with what you said.
  15. There are so many factors to go into it. But today is getting kind of hectic so I may address all of how I got to the number but long story short 48. But realistically 45-55
  16. Having any offense from the catcher spot would be a massive improvement in our offense.
  17. He will be 33 years old next year. He hit 219 last year and he's coming off an injury that took him out the entire year. And the year he was going into his free agent year he had a career year.
  18. Cozart for Gray would be incredible. Get rid of an aging veteran coming off an injury yes please.
  19. So you are saying the Angels have 3 players that have never existed in MLB history and Adell is just under that. Adell is a 30 30 home run steals guy? How many of those have their been in baseball. Simmons is the greatest shortstop in history? Wow I haven't heard this argued before. You do realize we just left an ERA that gave us Jeter, ARod, Tejada and Nomar right?
  20. Pujols is not retiring before his contract ends. Stop with this nonsense. It won't happen. I would much rather have Cano then Pujols not even close. Younger and better I have no care at all about steroid use or being suspended. Hell if he gets suspended he doesn't get the money. I wish Pujols would and get suspended for 3 years we'd save a lot of cash.
