  1. I don't want to be the team that gives him a guaranteed 2nd year.
  2. I don't predict any major moves. I don't think the Angels this off season are in the business of major moves. With the $30 million they are reported to have available, major moves would take up all if not most of their resources.
  3. define major.... and your predictions mean nothing if there's nothing you are willing to give up like AO. Predict and then say if I am wrong you will stop posting for a week.
  4. What does what you said have anything to do with Pujols? I don't think you.... nevermind
  5. I am still wrong that Cron had a better OPS than Pujols for two straight years? Hmm... I think you will want to check your stats again.
  6. Pujols had a 289 OBP last year. I am not sure what you would classify as not a total disaster.
  7. How obvious does it have to be? Does the person need to be 100,200, or 300 points better in OPS or ? OPS 792>780 742>672
  8. Cron did and was traded. I have no clue on Thaiss. What I can only tell you are facts. Cron put up better numbers than Pujols on the Angels roster for 2 straight years and he was traded while Pujols kept the first base job.
  9. Cron was better than Pujols for 2 years when he was traded. Pujols was kept. Doesn't matter how good Thaiss is he probably won't be as good as Cron or Ohtani and Ohtani will sit for Pujols while he plays DH. I completely agree. But you know Pujols will play DH over Ohtani on this team. Whether it's 1 game or 25 there is no way I see this Angels team letting Pujols only play 1st base.
  10. It has been said a thousand times so heres 1001. Cron was better than Pujols when they traded him. Pujols will not be replaced at first until Pujols decides to walk away or he is on the DL. I guarantee you Pujols will play DH a lot this year which means Ohtani will be sitting on the bench. I think we can all agree Ohtani has more upside than Pujols.
  11. Seriously? holy crap massive overpay. Especially when the Angels have 30 million to spend there's no way you can take away 7.5 mil for someone who won't even play this year
  12. Agree as much as this move is ehh or not that exciting. The guy has a career 345 obp. Can't hate that. Would have been 3 on the Angels last year.
  13. He wasn't winning sh*t here either. San Diego has a promising prospect future from what everyone is saying. Also curious to see how much this deal was for.
  14. Maybe. But then @Lou will bring it back up when he only pitches 50 innings and re injures himself.
  15. Do we have to worry about Trout leaving for San Diego now?
  16. While I agree it is not a perfect system I think it allows for more interesting moves and interesting things to happen.
  17. The one thing I would argue about this about would be that players switching teams around too often is exactly what has made the NBA more interesting. It could do the same for baseball.
  18. It was a dumb contract at the time. Getting out from under the contract is a win for Seattle.
  19. The problem you see with unions though are that the majority usually doesn't run the minority. You see it in the NBA as well the elite players run the NBA union I imagine it is quite similar in the MLB union.
  20. He's 30 years old. He won't pitch again till he's 31 and that's coming off 2 TJ surgeries. He is not longed for baseball. Just because he was an Angel prospect you want to keep him? It is time to move on we only have 30 million to spend. Even spending 1 million dollars on him is taking away resources to spend somewhere that can help this team
  21. Cozart was signed to a 3 year deal not 2.
  22. I would much rather not get in a bidding war with the limited resources we have for someone with the injury history that he has.
