  1. Ahh man, this is really horrible. The Royals are going to eviscerate us this week. This team WILL lose 100 games. This might be (record and performance wise) THE worst Angel team of all time. I'm guessing everybody gets fired, Scioscia, the entire coaching staff, Dipoto, the lot.
  2. Hey look everyone! I'm a Prophet!!!! Dear Angels, **** you. I'm gonna go watch Roadhouse now.
  3. There are (or were) similar sites for McCarver and Hawk Harrelson...good stuff. BTW, great screen name Sil! Every message board could use a consigliere!
  4. Even with all the problems in our minor league system, we seem to have cornered the market on the 'Fast White Guy'...
  5. Shulman is fast becoming one of my favorite PBP guys, and Hershiser is a very smart baseball guy. Kruk is idiot filler, kinda like nougat.....check that, exactly like nougat...If CJ can bring his Houston game tonight, I think he will be good, esp. with the cold weather there again, and the White Sux shitty O. I'm more worried about our O vs. Sale. Please Halos, do not make this another 'Sunday Night Baseball no-hit until the 5th' game again!!! I've seen that movie way too many times, much like Roadhouse.
  6. He wanted to sign with either the Yanks or an LA team last winter too. I was really hoping we would have put the full court press on for him or Iwakuma. Oh well, at least we got Blanton.
  7. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/players/playerpage/1769243 If he throws, he will be the 20th P used by Halos so far...and it's May 11. Usually not a good bellwether for a baseball season. Sorry if Craig, I didn't see anything.
  8. I actually did a little fist pump when Trout made that catch....then I looked at my fist like it was stupid. Stupid fist.
  9. He's the worst umpire in baseball. Has been for years. He makes Eric Gregg look like Ed Runge...
  10. I hear ya dude. I'm not pissed anymore. Ain't gonna help a shitty team get un-shitty anyways...
  11. Why so rude? Aggie has been cool this year! Of course, it's easy to be cool in his position...
  12. I also love this team. I have since I was 9 years old, back in 1978, and that will never change. I also innately knew that they were terrible this year, and were a very eclectic mish-mash of personalities and skill levels. I never bought in this Winter, even when everything was looking unbelievably positive after the Hamilton signing, I don't know why, I just felt it. As such, I'm not as bummed as I normally would be with how horrible they are, and it has seriously lowered the overall stress in my life, in comparison to most seasons (even good ones). I normally make a trip to Anaheim at least once a year to catch a series, hit the beach, and get my SoCal vibe on, but I'm not going this year. The only thing that will sway me is my daughter bugging the crap out of me to get her Trout fix. I'm not going to come on here and bash the team anymore (I rarely did anyways), because I really don't give a shit, completely ambivalent. That is something I (or anybody who has ever known me) never, ever thought I would say. As far as being 'in', I'll still watch when I can, but I am really really lamenting the $200 I spent on MLB Extra Innings this year.
  13. I would not be at all surprised if that is exactly what happens. If Arte was 'Angry' before this season, he has to be seething right now. A businessman thru and thru, he would stand to make a huge nut off of his 2003 investment if he got out now, and would not have to suffer the losses this team will incur in the next few years while they try to rebuild. The crowds at the Big A will soon return to the mid 90's levels, and douchebag fish-hacks like Simers and Plaschke will continue to pile on him personally. This is just an awful, catastrophic turn of events in the history of this franchise. Who in the **** thought that signing Albert ****ing Pujols at '32' years old would signal the ruination of the franchise? I didn't! I heard it on the radio at 6:30 am that next morning, and ran back into the house, woke my kids up, and told them all about it. I was excited as a little kid myself, and was also pretty damned stoked when I heard about Hamilton, albeit way more wary. This really sucks.
  14. This thread has never been less funny. And that is a huge accomplishment.
  15. Yeah, I'm not buying it, I still think they are not very good. I wish I had the optimism some of you guys have, but for me, it's not a 'parts' or 'sum' issue, it's a culture thing. This team has zero swagger, and no one in that locker room seems to be the guy to change that. Of course, I have no idea what goes on inside, but I didn't in 2002 either, and I could see the marbles in Percy, Erstad, Fullmer, Eckstein, etc. just by watching TV. I'm gonna say it again, I think a guy like Bill Hall could tilt that room in a good way. I hope he makes it back up to test that strange theory.
  16. From the shit hitting the fan, I think. I suspect that before anyone gets fired, JDP will try to save face and at least attempt to make a big deal. Thinking about trade possibilities, the Angels don't have much of a surplus of anything, so they are going to have to weaken one area in order to strengthen another. Coming into the year, the offense was supposed to be a huge strength. So far, it has looked pretty much like the early 2012 version, a couple of guys producing, a couple sucking, and nobody going off and 'carrying' the team. The pitching, as expected, has been the weaker of the two groups. Not one guy on the staff has separated himself from the suck, with most of them being far below career averages so far, a nightmare scenario. So, if they do try to swing a deal, I'm guessing they would have to part with a position player (or 2), and try to obtain some mound help. For the sake of discussion (and with only a few minutes of vodka-fueled thought), I'll throw one out there. I have been reading that the Rays, according to scouts, are going nowhere this year with that offense. They seem to have a bit of a surplus of pitching, so here goes: Kendrick, Conger, and RJ Alvarez for Alex Cobb, Chris Archer, and Sean Rodriguez. Again, this is just throwing a discussion dart out there, I'm no GM....hopefully, some of you guys who are more keen to other teams' pulses will post some ideas. My thinking here is the Angels could plug Cobb and Archer right into the rotation, and Sean-Rod could take over 2b. Release or 'injure' Blanton, and move Hanson or Vargas to the bullpen. The Rays could bring up Jake Odorizzi to replace Cobb, and plug Howie and Hank right into the starting lineup. Flame away...
  17. Think the Rangers would've failed in that situation?
  18. Yeah, isn't it funny how the exact opposite applies to our entire offense.
  19. Lather, Rinse, Shit in the shower, Repeat.
