  1. Unfortunately, 2B seem to be in fairly good supply this winter. I think Howie is probably our best trade chip, but Dipoto will probably have to move fast to get a good haul for him, with Phillips, Uggla, Cano all seemingly available. I was checking out the O's prospect list, and while I don't think Howie could fetch a Bundy or Gausman, there are some decent looking young pitchers in their top 20 (Rodriguez and Belfiore caught my attention). Belfiore is a big lefty reliever who projects to make it up in 2014, he might be the 2nd guy I would ask for after one of their SP prospects in a 2 for 1 deal. http://baseballinstinct.com/2013/09/04/baltimore-orioles-top-21-prospects-2013-review/
  2. It would be worth it just to see that fantastic moustache again....mmmm.
  3. Or because Pujols doesn't like him, or because of the 150 DP's, or because he never played much in the big leagues and guys didn't respect him, or because he and Picciolo were talking shit about the skipper behind his back, or because who ****ing knows? Looks like a sacrificial lamb slaughter to me, it makes zero, absolute zero sense from the outside, so they are probably just clearing space for a bigger name (or Angel alum) hitting coach. I've been sitting here reading the entire 13 pages of this, and there are some great points being made (and there's also LT offering nothing but short, counterpoints, tinged with sarcasm, angering posters and chiding them for being angry), so same ol' theme. I think Mike Butcher really has a horseshoe up his ass to have not lost his job today personally.

  5. If they are going to fire the manager, I'm hoping the delay is because they are waiting for Tampa to finish up getting swept by the Red Sux.
  6. If that's true, then the entire coaching staff should be replaced. I'm a huge Mike Scioscia fan, but it is time to change the culture of the Angels. 4 years of team-record payrolls and no playoff games is good enough reason for me to welcome his firing. He hasn't forgotten how to manage, but there needs to be an entirely new direction in philosophy. Yes, he was put behind the eight ball with the pitching staff that was given to him this year, but at the same time, Joe Girardi's staff sucked too (BP was better, and only one example), and they were in it until 10 days ago or so. I'm excited to see what a new skipper can bring to this team.
  7. Thanks Geoff, I just aqua-lunged my monitor at work! Anybody know how to get Dr.Pepper off a flat screen?
  8. I believe I uttered an expletive-laced comment to that effect, yes...
  9. We went last night, it was our first game of the year. We usually make the trip from Reno on this weekend (right after Labor Day), and this was the smallest Friday night crowd I've seen in the 9 years we've been doing it. Listening to Angel Talk on the way back to the hotel, Terry said the attendance was 39k...maybe half of those were actually there. Fine by me though, short lines for everything, and the ushers totally hooked us up. We mentioned we drove 9 hours the night before (arriving at 1am) to get there, and Todd, an usher at the main gate, made us 'Honorary Angels' for the game, and we got to run onto the field and sing TMOTTBG before B7...it was ****ing rad!!!
  10. ****ing mother****ing double cocksvcking plays. What a great 2013.
  11. Hey guys, I need 4 tickets for either Friday or Saturday's games vs. Rangers (or both, if u have them). Please text me at 7757451493 if you have tix u want to sell. Thanks!
  12. I agree with the pitching thing, but the OPS ranking is so misleading. Arte also saying that they've hit well just does not tell the story offensively. The DP's and overall lack of clutch and good situational hitting has been a huge problem this year. When they have a RISP and 0 outs, I have zero confidence that they will cash in. Case in point (just the latest) was the 14 inning game against CLE last Tuesday, bases juiced, 0 outs in the 10th, and nada. Many on here were predicting (as I was) that they would **** that situation up, and they did not disappoint yet again. When in that situation, the next hitter absolutely has to come through with a run-scoring hit (****ing medium depth fly ball??), not get anxious and shit the bed, leaving the next guy to come through. There is a huge lack of 'professional hitter's' approaches in that situation, all year.
  13. On a great note, just met Lach!! Great dude! He is taking copious notes on everyone.
  14. Juan Rivera just mmm-bopped the shit out of Hanson...2 R big ass fly
  15. Watching the Bees here in Reno with my Angel fanatic 12 yr old daughter. Coworker hooked me up with 3rd row ducats right next to Bees dugout. Kendall got some autographs before game, Lucho, Field, Keith Johnson, Drew Heid. Lucho was way cool, Johnson too. Tommy Field was kinda irritated, but signed anyways. Hanson looks shaky, living at 87-88 and hanging curveballs. Andy Marte hit one about 600' to LF, 1st pitch fastball cockshot, hit it over RR trax, a hike. My kid is beaming, way effing better than sitting home watching the 'big' club!
  16. My bad, here I thought he was slumping after that day...
