  1. We have the worst coach in the whole western conference after McLellan was fired by the Oilers.
  2. If Kesler is a high risk of being LTIRetired, he might be more movable than Perry as after Ottawa sells their players they will need to reach the salary floor. They need to start sending Kesler out to face other teams goons so that if he gets hurt they can LTIRetire him & with his career over he'd probably waive his NMC since he won't be playing for Ottawa anyways.
  3. Sprong i believe can't be sent down without passing waivers, i sense a trade happens involving Silf before that.
  4. After Rakell & Perry are back: If Cogliano & Kesler were to both get injured & they recall both Steel & Terry they could have a 3rd line of Ritchie/Steel/Silf & a 4th line of Terry/Rowney/Perry.
  5. Thats on par with Scioscia batting Pujols 3rd. Carlyle & Scioscia are probably drinking buddies, fishing buddies, hunting buddies, etc
  6. Carlyle: puts Kesler on PP units, thinks using the 'shutdown line' with minutes left in the game is smart. The only thing the shutdown line does is shutdown the Ducks from scoring because Kesler is more useless than Pujols & Cogs can't do shit anymore.
  7. So their the Angels version of Daniel Sprong & Pontus Aberg. Low risk/high reward. The risk is only 1 years worth of 20mil down the drain & thats for both of their salaries combined so the odds are at least one of them performs decently well.
  8. Does anyone remember he was the opposing pitcher in Nick Adenharts last game ? He will be pitching for the Angels 10 years later after that game.
  9. Make Kesler play a physical checking role & get injured so they can put him on LTIR & insurance will cover 80% of his salary according to Eric Stephens. Btw SJ wouldn't mind swapping Vlasic for Perry or Kesler, that Vlasic contract is gonna be alot worse than Perrys especially since he doens't have injury problems & can't be LTIR. Thats how bad of a contract Vlasic has, 31 yearold with 8 years remaining with 7mil AAV that also includes signing bonuses making him impossible to move. Vlasic has played like a poor mans Dotchin according to Shark fans.
  10. and alot to be had on the trade market this year: Blues are rumored to be open to selling anyone on their roster including Tarasenko, Schwartz & O'Reilly. Capitals rumored to want to move Burakovsky. RedWings have 29 yearold Nyquist who's having a good year & would be a rental i think.
  11. Kase. God he is fast to the net with quick hands. He plays the game like he's a top line forward.
  12. Sprong has been a surprise, sure he's a 1 dimensional forward but he's good at that one dimension when he's given a scoring center & ice time.
  13. Whats Kase's ceiling ? 14 points in 15 games. He drives the play more than Rakell ever has. Fans around the league are always impressed by him more than Rakell.
  14. Hughes vs McDavid in the Pacific is a good thing for the Division.
  15. I got a solution to that: 100 million divided up over 300 years for Pujols. Thats about 333K per year.
  16. Good. Maybe Pujols will whine to Artie saying he'll retire unless they give him his DH spot back & he retires.
  17. If Jack Hughes becomes a King via Kings getting 1st overall pick they will return to the playoffs next season & Hughes will get to see the playoffs in his rookie campaign. There is several teams i see competing for the Hughes sweepstakes: Chicago - they built their core by tanking & look to do so again, expect them to shop players at the deadline. St. Louis - rumored to be shopping several players including Tarasenko, Schwartz, Pietrangelo etc. Arizona - lost Raanta for the season so expect them to drop in the standings. Vancouver - still playing over their heads, they lost over 100 points from the retirement of the Sedins, it'll catch up with them. New Jersey - Schneider is BAD, like Scott Kazmir on the Angels type bad.
  18. Tulowitski isn't even good enough to make Team Poland's roster.
  19. Trout signed to a 10 year contract extension followed by Pujols retiring.
  20. If Pujols whines & threatens to retire, well he can go ahead and retire lol & Eppler will try not to smile when Pujols retires.
  21. Bummer cause then they could someday add a 3rd team on the score board "Refs" with the score being Refs 1, Blues 0, Panthers 0 along with the Ref being credited for the goal lol.
  22. I still think he'd hit lefties better in 2019 than Pujols will.
  23. Giving a GM an extension too soon can make them more likely to make mistakes cause they'll still get paid if their fired ?
  24. Maybe Bob threatened the owners he'd take the scouting director Madden with him if he got sacked or the owners really like how things are & just want to continue to "grow california hockey" than trying to win. That said Bob is overall a good GM despite his faults, they've been drafting good under him & finding value in the garbage bin (Aberg, Dotchin) & plucking potential top 6 forward for a depth 6th d-man in Pettersen.
