  1. Who would Pujols hire in his coaching staff I wonder ? He'd make them sign Bartolo to both pitcher & pitching coach maybe.
  2. Angel Hernandez just keeps adding more to the fuel for a computerized strike zone that adjusts based on batter height etc & calls strikes with 100% accuracy.
  3. If its Eric Chavez it'd be really interesting who he picks as bench manager because he'll be spending some time on the DL for sure
  4. When fully healthy i wonder if they'll try moving Henrique to the wing: Rakell/Getzlaf/Eaves Henrique/Kesler/Kase Comtois/Steel/Silfverberg Cogliano/Rowney/Gibbons
  5. I'd rather have Nicole Ritchie than Nick Ritchie.
  6. Ok so Its time to change my username since Scioscia is stepping down. I request my named by changed to Pujols4MVP - as a way to jinx him into retiring. My username history: Napoli4MVP - gets traded in one of the worst trades in team history Morales4MVP - breaks his leg celebrating a HR & misses over a year of playing time. Scioscia4MVP - steps down within a few years. So with Pujols4MVP we can expect Pujols days on the Angels to end quicker.
  7. Only if Scioscia was the coach. Reminds me i i need to change my username to Pujols4MVP so that he's jinxed & decides to retire.
  8. Its true for sure offensively they are bad. The little things though: Steel has been decent on faceoffs in compare to Henrique, Lundestrom won 50% in his debut, Comtois has the most hits of the teams forwards. Without the depth of decent to good prospects they could be 1-2-0. Heard Lundestrom was very responsible in his 2way game. What do you think about the Ducks giving Comtois/Terry more than 9 games this year ? No matter what they do they are going to lose a good player in the expansion draft & by the time of it Perry will be off the books so starting their clock won't be that bad. I think Seattle will receive a d-man(Larsson or Mahura to not pick a certain player & to pick a depth guy) which means they don't got to worry about the Forwards.
  9. The 3-0 record is really work of the scouting & drafting the team does. They don't have a elite forward prospect but all those decent ones have done the job at patching holes.
  10. Steel has been good in the Faceoffs at 51%, Henrique has been brutal at 40%. I like how Comtois has 12 hits already. Since last year Lindholm has been quite the goal scorer. I could see him & Montour having a 15 goal season easily.
  11. I feel like with he talent they have they at least shouldn't be getting out shot by Arizona, its like the team plays that way cause of Gibson.
  12. Lindholm is leading the Ducks in ice time two games in a row. Sustr & Schenn are being limited more than Bieksa i believe.
  13. 25:05 Ice time, 3 hits, 3 blocks & a +1 for Lindholm. Nice to see him with a more mean streak as his hits on the blueline were second to only Schenn on the blueline. Carlyle is giving the Top4 more ice time. 24 mins for Fowler, 25 for Lindholm, 22 for Montour, 22 for Manson. The Sharks gave their 3rd pairing guys more ice time (27 mins combined) than the Ducks did with their 3rd pairing (25 mins), yes Burns & Karlsson got more ice time than Fowler or Lindholm but Vlasic had just under 22 mins & Braun had 16 minutes followed by 14 mins for Ryan & 13 minutes for Dillon. Rowney had a good game. 50% at faceoffs, 4 hits, a goal, a +1 & 15 minutes of ice time including about a minute & a half on the PK.
  14. WOW. Lundestrom to make opening night roster supposely https://www.aftonbladet.se/sportbladet/hockey/a/karnKL/anaheim-behaller-isac-lundestrom Here's the translation: Isac Lundeström, 18, appears to remain in the NHL. Luleå talent is high to play the premiere of Anaheim Ducks. "He has done so well that they want to test him in NHL," says Martin K Nilsson, agent of NSD. Isac Lundeström, 18, has impressed during Anaheim's preseason. He would have actually returned to Luleå Hockey on September 20th, but many are talking now that the forwarden gets the chance in the NHL Premiere against San Jose Sharks. - Anaheim has Ryan Kesler, Corey Perry and some other players injured, and he has been involved in training on four chains. Yesterday he coached Ben Street and Carter Rowney. So it looks like he's going to play, "says Martin K Nilsson, agent of NSD. "Will not play in AHL" An option for the club is to keep Lundeström and let him play nine NHL matches and then let him go to SHL. This in order not to activate the first year of his rookie contract. Luleå can thus wait one or more weeks for a final message regarding the Gällivare zone. - He will not play in AHL, and just being there and relieving damage and illnesses is not very developing. Then it's better that he plays in Luleå. How that depends depends on how much time he gets in the next few weeks, says Martin K Nilsson
  15. I agree with Fletcher, i hope its Chavez. Him being a former rival on the As like how Scioscia was with the crosstown Dodgers has a nice spin. Chavez probably had to start thinking about his future in the game after all his numerous trips to the DL during his playing days. He may be the right kind of manager who can help Ohtani open up to playing in the field in the future with talking about his own experiences as a player being often
  16. Scioscia, Lackey & likely Napoli + K-Rod all retired in the same year. Not only us there no more from the 2002 team left but only Morales, Kendrick & Ervin Santana of 2006 team are active in MLB.
  17. What about GA ? He'd go up to umpires with lazy look & ask them politely to call better strikes followed by the umpires being like wtf & they are like wow no ones ever been nice to us before & they start giving angels favorable calls.
  18. They need to get someone good that has their arm attached firmly.
  19. When a Mike leaves Philly they never go back: Mike in Breaking Bad/'Better Call Saul' left Philly & never came back. Mike Scioscia has never gone back to Philly except for interleague play.
  20. They looked good last night, the Kings looked like the Ducks of last year. Who needs Perry when we have Terry. They may not have elite prospects but Ducks have ton of guys who someday when combined could average out to 35 to 40 points each providing alot of depth on every single line. Too bad they still have Scioscia....oops i mean Carlyle as coach.
  21. Ritchie is a prima donna if he thinks he's worth that much to be holding out. Given Murray's past, he'll definitely trade him or do a sign & trade.
  22. Thats the only way i'd be ok if Scioscia re-signs with the Angels, to prevent him from going to Philly who might fire their manager just to hire Scioscia whom they use as future incentive for Trout to sign with them if the Angels are dumb enough not to give Trout a contract extension. Arte needs to just pay the man. The Senators had all the time to sign Karlsson, as did the Islanders with Tavares.
  23. Over a full season worth of PA's even if Ohtani's numbers dipped over a full season he'd still wind up with 30 to 35 HRs & a higher OPS than them & his WAR would still improve over where it is now. I think over a full season he'd have only gone down as low as a .860 OPS but would probably finish around .880 over a full season.
  24. Mexico might end up building a wall but for difference reasons, Mexico now has its 1st socialist leader, 1st ever from the PRD (Communist lite party). Once Mexico starts causing its wealthy elite to leave the country & the upper middle classes start leaving they are gonna end up going the Cuba route & forbid people from leaving. Here's the thing, even if Mexico vastly increases taxes on the rich the Mexican goverment will never spend it on the poor, the money will get lost in loopholes & end up in the pockets of the politicians like it always has over there.
