Angels got a reaction from ten ocho recon scout in Angels acquire Vinnie Pestano
Blanton had excellent SIERA numbers from 2010-2013. Doesn't mean anything when you allow hits and home runs galore.

Angels got a reaction from jsnpritchett in Jimenez claimed by Brewers
Who cares. His stick left a lot to be desired.
Last thing we need is a complete hacker who can't hit qualify as depth.

Angels got a reaction from yvangelfan in Joe Maddon leaving Rays
Some fans are content with being perennial losers in the postseason. No accountability whatsoever. Scioscia's clubs can suck all they want in the real season/October, apparently.
Let's also not forget that this was the first year the Angels made the postseason in five years.

Angels got a reaction from yvangelfan in Joe Maddon leaving Rays
Maddon did a heck of a job with a limited payroll. He propelled and guided his team (against all odds) to amazing years - postseason included - in what was a ridiculously stacked division with teams that had a few individual players making more than the entire Rays' payroll.
I can't even begin to imagine what this amazing manager can do with the budget and talent of a team like the Angels.

And an ever-so-common first round exit in the real season.
We need a manager who can win in the playoffs, not a one title wonder. 2002 was a millennia ago. What has he done since...?

Yes I have. And it's a lot better than Scioscia's.
10-22 happens to be Scioscia's postseason record since 2002.

If Maddon goes to the Cubs that team could be fun to watch in a few years with all their prospects being up

Fire Scioscia, hire Maddon. Get it done Dipoto !

Unfortunately, Arte isn't going to eat Scioscia's large contract (otherwise he probably would've been long gone by now).
Too bad because we could use a manager who isn't a prehistoric dinosaur.

Did the 2-4 hitters also make the dumb decisions over the past 10-12 years in the postseason that knocked the Angels out of the playoffs too?

And then managed the Angels out of the ALDS. He has a terrible postseason record. Time to move on.

And then did what in the playoffs? Oh yea, got swept by a wildcard team...No one cares about or remembers the regular season

Would love to see him in an Angels uniform but Moreno doesn't have the balls to fire Mike, too bad. He will end up with the Cubs.

In the playoffs you will get good and bad performances. Putting it on them is ludicrous. He completely changed his managing style, and on top of that put Hamilton in the lineup. His post season record speaks louder than the 2-4 hitters performance.

I don't know how you always get people to respond

I think it's more that we have enough threads about how much Scioscia sucks and how bad the team was in the playoffs that when one positive thread comes up it turns into a negative one.
You have the right to post your opinions. No one is censoring them. It's just some here get annoyed seeing this type of shit in every thread, even the positive ones. Which ends up being why 99% of the threads are negative. People don't bother posting something positive because they know it will turn into this. And that turns people away from posting here.
On the flip side, you have a point about people being too argumentative and not being able to accept other opinions. It's a small minority but there are absolutely people like that here. I think it's a situation where a select few have ruined the fun for everyone else. One or two people would go into a thread and spew their constant negative nonsense ad nauseam and people got fed up with it. Now anyone who posts a negative comment gets lumped in with those types of people. While that is unfair, it's like being a parent at a kid's party and two kids keep yelling "shit" and "f*ck" and another says "poop" somewhat loudly but only once or twice and then telling all their parents they were swearing. Or something.
Anywho, some people need to take a step back and stop overreacting to negativity, on the other hand, other people need to take a step back from their keyboards and not use Angelswin as their own personal dumping ground.

Angels got a reaction from Angel Oracle in WS Game 1 Thread - SF @ KC
Some team will give him a big contract...I just hope the Angels don't. He's overrated and already showing signs of decline. And he'll be 33 and almost 34 by the end of next season. Pass

Anyone who watched him manage during the postseason should be able to tell what a farce this win is.
The Angels had one of the highest payrolls in baseball with some amazing talent this year. Would Scioscia have won this award had he been managing the Twins?

I'll be honest I wouldnt want to give him or scherzer big money this offseason. Would be more content signing a middle of the rotation guy. They're going to get stupid money.

I wasn't the one bringing up the total number of sac bunts each team had... and thinking that proved something without context, though. Some bunts are justified. The one Scioscia called for sure wasn't.

Here's where your logic fails... Not all bunts are alike. Some bunts actually make sense. Not all bunts are bad.
Also, you are not even taking rosters into account (talent level of hitters). Or in-game situations and scenarios.

That happened in Game 1. Good to know that you think it's ok to take the bat away from the best player in the world, though.

Angels got a reaction from stormngt in Off season targets
Bullpen? Richards? Shoemaker? Weaver? Rasmus? Santiago for some period? Aybar? Kendrick? The catchers? Pujols? Freese? Some of the bench guys? Did you forget about them?
The Angels had the best record for a reason. It wasn't because of two guys, that's for sure.

Angels reacted to Brent Maguire in Off season targets
You can trade these guys if you have solid replacements or if you're in a rebuilding mode.
In the Angels case, neither of those are possible.
The downgrade from Howie to Green is very big. Aybar has no replacement. Iannetta is a FA after the year so he doesn't have much value. Freese doesn't have much value. Hamilton/Pujols aren't going anywhere.

Angels got a reaction from Torridd in Howie's Future
Kendrick had the sixth-highest wRC+ among all second basemen (35 players) with a minimum of 300 PAs. Kendrick was one of the very best players at his position.
Context matters.
